Things haven't been going all that well for CN these past six months.In July 2009 it showed a ratings loss of 23%,almost the same as 2008 while Disney gained popularity in a 24 in the same amount
/period of time.

The Strategy of Integrating Live Action shows in their Programing was not well received by American fans of the Channel, which is why they now suffer the lost of an audience that has supported them throughout all these years.

Agreed. Not much else to say. I have no clue why they thought to change their format at all, from the first days.

When I was at the theater recently and saw the advert for the live action show(s), I was disgusted beyond belief.

Really, Toonami needs to come back as well as airing older and rarer 'toons. Heck, there are other countries besides Japan and North America who make cartoons!

About 10-15 years ago it was the shit. If they made a channel that was the perfect replica of CN 10-15 years ago, same exact thing, it would do better than the present one.

They can chuck HB cartoons up someone's arse. Bring back the Cow & Chicken line of cartoons (including I.M. Weasel and friends), Dexter's Lab, and DBZ. The uncersored and unfiller version this time, if at all possible.

I'm kinda glad CN quit being on cable here some years ago, actually . Now Comedy Channel has to go, everything but The Simpsons, South Park, and, to a lesser degree, that one show everyone seems to like so much which I can't remember the name. The rest is all complete and utter shit sitcoms with blackers or teenyboppers that can gtfo.

Same goes for the rest of TV. No, I do not want to watch how you make a complete and utter idiot of yourself in front of millions of people.

Seriously. Remember when there was bare reality TV shows on network tv, everyone? Networks hardly touched that shit with a 10 foot poll.

But then came Survivor. And Big Brother. And that just...completely shifted the entire prime time network television standard. The "Real World" and that other shit on Cable wasn't enough. Network Television just fell even further into the shitter.

There needs to be a good reality tv show scandal or something. Something to completely undermind the faith and reputation of the entire genre. Just like the Quiz Show debacle did for game shows.

Doesn't shock me whatsoever. I hope the plummeting ratings are a wake-up call to them. I know I'll never love CN as I used to, but I do enjoy cartoons still. I used to love Foster's and the stuff from the mid-90s. I love the old syndicated 80s cartoons, Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, 2 Stupid Dogs, etc.

I used to be a huge fan of [adult swim] as well, I still try to be but it's hard because they're doing similar stuff to that programming block as well.

It all unfortunately boils down to the almighty dollar, and producing live action is often considerably less cost than to produce animation.

And I wish I had Boomerang. But I don't have a digital cable box. Comcast keeps taking channels away slowly, and soon I'm sure there will be nothing to watch at all.

I don't really watch much tv anymore, usually just before I go to sleep. Lately though, there hasn't been much of anything to watch at ALL. Reality TV hasn't even hit rock bottom... the genre has bottomed out so bad they hit rock bottom years ago and has sunk so low, its managed to hit the other side of the Earth. XD Case in point: just turn VH1 on.

There is nothing "adult" about Adult Swim anymore. Their humor is no different than Cartoon Network's. Except with more sexual innuendo, and toilet humor that you need a lobotomy to find funny.

I have Boomerang too, and that's starting to suck ass as well because they keep shifting their shit cartoons THERE too! And some aren't even fucking old! I'm sorry, but I don't watch Boomerang to fucking see "The Batman" or "Kids Next Door." What the fuck? If they didn't choke CN with all that live action shit, they could keep the shows that are relatively young off of Boomerang and let it keep the cartoons that deserve to be there.

Stephen Spielberg needs to make cartoons again. Animaniacs, Tiny Toon, Pinky and the Brain, and the rest had the perfect balance of slapstick humor, snark, and witty pop culture observations that children AND adults could be amused at. Holy shit, were his cartoons ahead of his time. The guy had talent.

Now we're stuck with this horse shit now. It's terrible.
