There is nothing "adult" about Adult Swim anymore. Their humor is no different than Cartoon Network's. Except with more sexual innuendo, and toilet humor that you need a lobotomy to find funny.

I have Boomerang too, and that's starting to suck ass as well because they keep shifting their shit cartoons THERE too! And some aren't even fucking old! I'm sorry, but I don't watch Boomerang to fucking see "The Batman" or "Kids Next Door." What the fuck? If they didn't choke CN with all that live action shit, they could keep the shows that are relatively young off of Boomerang and let it keep the cartoons that deserve to be there.

Why the hell don't they show fucking Loony Toons anymore?

Dood are you kidding? Adult Swim is full of garbage completely different from Cartoon Network like Squidbilies, and a bunch of other worthless shit. The humor in those shows is complete garbage, unlike the CN cartoons where it's occasionally funny.

The only 2 good shows AS has are Boondocks and Venture, but they rarely show them(they only just now started showing Venture every night) and it's taking forever to get new seasons.

And there is no reality in reality TV.

Relax dude, trust me. I'm not arguing AS isn't shit. But I think CN's current line up is shit too. In the end they're all shit. No point in polishing a turd, right?

Exactly. Most of the shows that are good on AS are not even shown regularly. They just force feed us the same shit over and over again to try to give their viewers a long distance lobotomy.

Relax? Uh, what.

I'm just saying they have both different types of humor, one complete shit and one not.

I've gotten to where I can't stand 99% of the adverts they show now. Robot Chicken is good for a laugh though.

I remember watching Cartoon Network when I was like, 9 or 10 years old. Couldn't even properly speak English but enjoyed 2 Stupid Dogs and Dexter's Lab anyway. :wacky:

I can't receive CN anymore so I don't know what everyone is talking about. :wacky:

Robot Chicken's great but it's not enough to redeem their fail.

Stephen Spielberg needs to make cartoons again. Animaniacs, Tiny Toon, Pinky and the Brain, and the rest had the perfect balance of slapstick humor, snark, and witty pop culture observations that children AND adults could be amused at. Holy shit, were his cartoons ahead of his time. The guy had talent.

Now we're stuck with this horse shit now. It's terrible.
Also, Freakazoid!

Spielberg's cartoons are just on another level. I recently watched a couple Freakazoid episodes on DVD, and still found them just as hysterically funny now as I did when it first aired. It's just great stuff.

I miss them airing Looney Toons, etc. Some of my favorite stuff is Tex Avery's MGM work. I believe they don't show it anymore due to the "violence". I know for awhile they cut out anything dealing with smoking or non-PC stuff. I just don't understand how they CAN show your run-of-the mill action show (say Batman or Naruto) in the afternoon to kids, those shows containing fight scenes (no blood or guts, but fighting)... but yet you can't show Bugs Bunny hitting Elmer Fudd in the head with a mallet.

And the thing with AS is, when it began in 01, it was groundbreaking stuff. As time goes on, it's less and less groundbreaking. I hardly watch it anymore because there is SO little original programming and then the original programming that gets on tv isn't always that great. And then there's the fact that they keep canceling shows after only a few episodes. Yep, let's air some more Family Guy, King of the Hill and Robot Chicken to fix that.

Cartoon Network has started a series of live action programs called CN real that cause people to change the channel everytime they're aired.

Showing shitty live action movies too.

I disagree, Flapjack and Chowder aren't half bad.

Robot Chicken's great but it's not enough to redeem their fail.

Still enough to make me tune in once in a while. Once there's some new episodes of the boondocks and VS, I'll probably start watching more regularly.

I still miss Harvey Birdman though.

Holy shit, YES. I'm gonna have to start buying cartoon dvds if I want to watch this stuff.

And yeah, it's a ridiculous double standard. Who the fuck knows what network censors are smoking these days. Fuck America and it's stupid standards and practices.

That's true too. LOL I love how AS is now just a shitty gipped version of Fox on weekends. They really have no taste or sense. It's so pathetic. Keep shoving Family Guy and King of the Hill down our throats. YEAH THAT'LL KEEP US WATCHING.

Eh, maybe you're right. But CN's pretty much shat on any hint of trust in their programming I may have had before. It all looks like piss and poo to me now.

Perhaps, but that's not really giving them the ratings they want or hope for is it? It's pretty sad if CN can only get people to look at their channel for 30 minutes at a time due to how shit their programming is. They've fallen hard if it comes to that.

Well the sad thing is, I don't think there ARE DVDs of Looney Toons, etc. I think Tom & Jerry have them. I often regret my decision to not buy a fan-made complete Tex Avery collection DVD set... because I don't think such a thing, including the cartoons that aren't allowed to air on tv anymore (ones referencing WW2 for example), will ever be made.

And if you aren't watching CN/AS, you aren't missing much.

Robot Chicken is extremely hit-or-miss, to me. I think they rely far too much on bodily function jokes.

I watch AS for Venture Brothers and Tim & Eric [dodges flames]. I used to be a big, huge fan of ATHF... but its quality has gone downhill with time. The last season was somewhat redeeming though. Space Ghost will probably always be my favorite AS show. Sealab was good for the first two seasons, then just completely (literally) jumped the Sharko.

It's just a big disappointment in general with any kind of entertainment lately. I feel like everything peaked in the 90s, and mostly everything's just been blahse since then- cartoons, tv, movies, video games, etc. Every once in awhile there's a shining star among the crap... but boy is there a lot of crap.

No, there are. There are Loony Toons collection dvds on sale and stuff. I may get a few to placate my inner child. :monster:

And yes, the cartoons are uncut as well.

Sometimes they do, but I let it slide because they show they're capable of humor beyond that level. A little toilet humor is funny but it just gets stupid and annoying when all someone can do is fart and booger jokes.

LOL the Tim & Eric awesome show has its moments. I'll give it that. But overall I just find their show to be too utterly insane and stupid.

Fuck, I can't believe they don't show Space Ghost Coast to Coast anymore. You gotta watch Boomerang for that.

See how retarded that is? Boomerang is now just CN's closet.

My sentiments exactly. I really hope this economic downturn will do the same thing it did to retail stores. Separate the wheat from the chaff. The shitty companies/shows need to be put out to pasture and destroyed ala Circuit City, Linen and Things, GM, Lehman Brothers, and all the other fucking stores/businesses/companies that just are floating around on hot air.

Fortunately I've taken advantage of many an Amazon.com sale and own many AS DVDs. I made sure I got my hands on all the Space Ghost ones so I may watch them at my leisure. Sadly, many of those episodes are 'lost' because the celebrities they interviewed won't give permission to air them. Cartoon Planet has a similar fate, and won't ever appear on DVD in its entirety due to them using copyrighted material throughout their show.

I, too, am hoping the economy can create some kind of creative rebirth, because the sorry state of things is just bad. I'm practically ready to bust out my SNES, or my PS1 and play FF7, that's how sad the current state of affairs is. XD

WB and WBKids has Looney Toons; at the very least, if you have Comcast cable, in the USA/North America, OnDemand has some stuff. Also Nick - how ever it's spelled, 'cause I can't spell to save my life - has some stuff... Again, OnDemand from Comcast at the very least. Sometimes ToonDisney/Disney Channel has some stuff, though it's rare.

What's better, I'm glad that they took CN off of the basic cable so they could lose even more viewers. The two things I really watch on that channel anymore are Family Guy and Robot Chicken and I could easily find them elsewhere.
