I think adding completely new characters to the story would improve the experience of the remake.
Maybe even permanently playable secret side character(s) - handled in the same way Yuffie and Vincent were in the original game.
Im suggesting this because one of the easiest, sure fire ways to make something 'old' fresh is to add new characters, as well as new plot to go along with them.
I think all would like to see new locations here and there around the world map. For example, everybody seems excited we'll be able to see and explore more of Midgar. On the same token, I'd like to see and follow the story of more characters, or at least their interaction with the main party.
Theres speculation that the 'odd' Shinra soldier in the trailer knows Cloud - thats an example of a new character that can be injected into the story to freshen it up.
Do you think adding new characters to the main story line would hurt it or help it? How about permanently playable secret side characters?
