Dag (TV series)

Ok so after a few tries with the audio getting muted because of 3 seconds of this and that music, I've now managed to upload s01e01 of Dag, subtitled with English subs I've done.

It's a Norwegian series about a couples' therapist who keeps telling his clients to divorce. It's sort of a dark comedy type show, very stylish. And funny. I do hope my subs do it justice.

Anyways check it out if you want. I think it's a good show that is kinda universal - I wouldn't post just about anything :)

(Sorry for the bad quality of the second part. Even though I muted the WMG tracks YouTube still removed the audio when I tried re-uploading it in a better quality.)

(Also thanks Kiigen, without you showing interest in it I'd never bothered doing the sub :awesome:)

I feel I should comment, but we already discussed it.... The show is pretty unique and humorous right off the bat. It looks like a great show and it's a great opportunity to see it... Shows like this that may hit big don't usually get heard of here until they hit like 5 seasons.

Thanks for doing this and pointing me in the direction of the software you're using. Much better than the one I was using beforehand- in that it actually works when I try and use the playback mode- so hell, I might actually finish resynching the Glass Mask subs.

Exactly. You US residents aren't exactly spoiled with external influences when it comes to TV shows, so it's great being able to give you guys a little taste.

Booze, illegal substances, violence, casual sex, guy breaking up with his girlfriend during labor... all the good stuff :awesome:

That's part of whats been fun about doing this. That piece of software is really good. For the record if anyone else is interested it's called "Subtitle Edit".

You have to be sure the little 'cc' down on the right side of the video is checked/ red. Since the embedded versions I've put on here are so small, you might have to click the videos and view them from their YouTube page to see the cc :)

I enjoyed that. Moar please!

I'm not stranger to foreign films but you rarely get much comedy coming over here, its great seeing comedy in another language and realising we all laugh at the same stuff. Then we can all be shiny happy people holding hands and shit :monster:

Crap, now I have to keep subtitling  :awesome:

You bring tears to my eyes

No but really I agree. I love getting into the shit that other cultures watch and do. It's sort of a peek into their minds and ways. People always assume things like 'but that's just common sense' - in YOUR culture, yes. But the world is large.

Now Britain and Norway is quite similar in humor, I've heard that from Brits in Norway and also from some weird chick on a forum :monster: And it's not strange when you consider that the state channel NRK's big hero for the last... ever since TV was established here is the BBC.
