Actually, DF makes more sense. That guy just wants to animate funky fight scenes so that's all he does. He doesn't try to distract us with some half-assed plot no one cares about in the first place.

I saw two seconds, then decided it was fail. Animation's too fast and looks amateurishly, has a completely over-the-top Mortal Kombat feel to it, etcetera.

That looks better than the 2 seconds of the other one, I have to admit. Still though, lame .

The animation and overall stuff is pretty good (for something fan-made), but imho they shouldn't have done FFX-2, let alone do some weird crossover with Dead or Alive, :/. This is like them old stick fighter thingy, which was awesome.

Yeah it's just one guy doing all the animation. I think he said a friend of his did the music. He's a pretty talented guy. On his dA page I think he said he was on the staff of the Afro Samurai game that came out a month or so ago, and I think DF had a hand in getting him the job.

In that case, he's bloody nuts and most likely unemployed, unless he earns a shitload with those movies. I mean, I dunno how much time it takes to do animations, but I can imagine it'd take forever. And not only the animations, but also the modeling, skinning, camera animations, skinning, effects... how long did it take for him to do those two parts?

Also, the animations in the short bits of the Afro Samurai game I saw looked pretty awesome.

Yeah I think he worked on the animation, not anything else.

And no, he doesn't make any money off of DF. Legally he can't anyway. He said he was offered $10,000 from Game Trailers for the vids to be exclusive to their site but he turned them down partly because he was afraid of legal action from SE and whoever makes Dead or Alive.

He seems to be a really generous guy, though. He made DVD's of the first two installments and handed them out free at a con and made the files available for downlowd on his dA a few months ago.

Yeah what Tennyo said, he cain't make any money off it since most of the character models are ripped out of their respective games (save for Rinoa and Tifa, those would have to have been made).

Still I find DF interesting to watch, and it caters to the 'what if such and such fought this person" crowd too.

Saw it today. Screamed like a little fangirl when I saw that flash back with Tifa telling Cloud to trust her. The fighting was epic, and Tifa getting stabbed with that arrow then taking it out was probably the most cringing part of the videos. I'm surprised that there's so much blood and gore here, in the first two I didn't even see blood.

Monty Oum is God.

I like how the crowd kept aaawing every time Tifa got hit, though honestly I'll be a bit pissed if she ends up dying. It seems like she and Cloud have a bit of a back story to this now.
