You know what, especially since playing a new FF is proving thoroughly enjoyable, I think I'll buy something from this. I never play games on my laptop, but it would be a really nice thing to have an engaging game on the go. Train trips to and from work are 50 mins each; this may be the best way to spend 'em

That's the joke. Lex has been trying to get me to play XIV for ages and I still haven't tried it, despite having 30 days of free playtime.

I just know I'll get addicted and end up spending money I don't have to play. I'm a poor student at the moment.

Of course this happens a few days after I bought VI for 16$ instead of the now 8$ it is.

I however went and swooped up IV and IV:Afteryears because it was 11 bucks compared to the 23 for the entire thing not on sale so that was a deal. Debating if I should buy V, and watch right after this sale they release IX on steam. Althought looking at the pricing of VIII and VII it'll likely be less than IV, V, or VI.

I took the plunge on V for the community playthrough and will probably get VI based on that experience (which has been purely positive with mods). The only thing of note is that the characters look weird when they're moving, but IMO everything else looks pretty great. Given that VI has even more mods due to it having rabid fans, I anticipate an even better experience with that.

I want IV (because I'm in the middle of that right now for the retrospective), but I'm gutted it's the DS version and not the 2D PSP remake, which IMO is a pretty perfect representation of what a SNES era remake should be. So I won't be buying it.

Most of them are still more than I want to spend. Still would really like to pick up 3-6. Odds are I won't, but still.

EDIT: Really a shame 9 isn't out yet (on Steam). You can get the twin shit-fests of 7 and 8, but not 9. Kind of pisses me off.
