OMG! Who says doing the filing is worthless? XD Doing the filing at work yesterday, my mind went into the "not really there" state it always does with simple tasks. Within twenty minutes, I came up with a new character, and fleshed out their place in the story! It does mean, however, I have to change my plans for Early... Noen, Alex, this doesn't change anything in the PM I sent you (...), but it changes part of the context for it.

*swish* OK, calendar... awesome. I'm going to set up my own for Damascus, however. It'll use two main timelines: DU (Damascus Unified) and DS (Damascus Schism). It'll be analogous to the calendar you guys have already sorted, but different month names, day names, etc.

I'm also curious about the origins of those names. I mean, our modern calendar has nods to old mythologies, old emperors, and old calendars. January = Janus, March = Mars, July = Julius Caesar, August = Augustus Caesar, September = seventh month, etc. (The original Roman calendar had ten months, but Caesar Augustus added July and August in the middle.) I could start on day names, too, but I don't want to bore you any further.
