Tactically speaking, I would like the prologue to be finished on everyone's behalf (as I never got in Awakening, I don't think I would contribute :mon: ). Then when that is done, we may be able to polish up Act 1 and then get the site into its maximum running capacity. This is a more sound move and we need not worry of continuity issues later.

I think it's just Kris and I that need to finish up some bits. Kaden needs to be in the post and I need to wrap up the one section I started.

Oh and what about THE BABY. What's going on with that phone call? :P

Actually. Everyone that had/has anything to write needs to go in there. I'll be around after about 6:30 pm EST to work on my stuff and make it flow with the rest of the post. Hopefully we can have a big chunk of people in there around that time?

About time I weigh in on current topics.

First thing: I've spoken with a couple of people already but I wholeheartedly agree with the idea to reorganise the Destrillian 'Seasons'.

Now the website, I like those Designs Adri showed, could work really well for a Dessie site, tho Agree with Sienna on the point of we need completed stories before having one up (Personally I think only Awakening needs to be completed before something can go up as the basic introduction, and once Aftermath Acts get done then gradually more and more can be added to it.)

And finally I got Soul Calibur 5 (Aka the closest thing to a Dessie fighting game)

Sadly things like coats add bulk to characters, and a Lokka without a coat is a world I don't want to live in :P

EVE LOOKS BITCHIN'. Seriously that makes me wish we had more of her in the series.

Now as for the website design! It all looks fabulous. I'm gonna ask precisely HOW many characters are in that pretty silhouette graphic on the front page, because let's face it... we have a lot of characters. Like +100. So just the mains? How do we differentiate the mains from the others? (ie, there are still a ton of mains if you have the 30 Dessies and some Lyverius and Vargas and Spencer.)

The threat level thing is interesting, but there'd need to be an empirical way of figuring it out. XD I also really like the idea of having Dessies in their pods as a graphic for their separate info pages.

The only thing I have to say - which although it is one thing, might totally screw everything up - is that the overall theme of the site seems scattered. Here it looks like this really awesome but very straightforward actiony-type site, but over HERE it looks like it's trying to be quirky and coy by being "doctors' notes" and so on.

Perhaps, as a 'practice' site (because it'd be smaller and more compact than a full-blown Dessies site,) a website dedicated simply to Awakening could be made. Focus solely on the whole idea of it being like a Violan database from which to access information (in fact that could be part of the theme, what with little animations of passcodes being keyed in.) You've got your doctors' field notes, your visual tour of Viola, your detailed graphics of the Dessies as they were in S0. You have a record of each doctor, sort of like a personnel file. You can also access a History page, which gives some very juicy (but not spoilery!) info on the origins of Viola, tailored, of course, to sound as if it's geared towards its employees.

How 'bout it? Try it on for size, and then once Aftermath is done we write a website geared towards Dessies in total?

I was thinking about the site design and had a thought, how about using adri's idea about the pods with the dessies in them for the main character selection screen. That way you have a pod showing a tiny bit of the dessie, the dessies number on the pod and then when the user clicks on that particular pod it then opens up with a more detailed picture and bio info....


Just a thought.

I've got something to bring up re: the website. It's taken me a while, but I've finally been able to get it into words. It's to do with the threat rating.

I'm thinking it should have two main criteria - for now, let's call them destructive and adaptive potentials. We'll take Fiona and Idris as examples.

As a directly weaponised power, Fiona's pyrokinesis can cause more damage than Idris' ferokinesis. Therefore, Fiona has greater destructive potential, and is by this measure a higher threat.

On the other hand, fire is straightforward and not open to subtlety - it's burny and blows shit up. However, Idris' control of metal is open to more varied uses - as an example, Idris is more dangerous knowing how to affect the flight path of bullets than she was before. Therefore, Idris has greater adaptive potential, and is by this measure a higher threat.

And if it comes down to bad language, there's no contest...
