Is this actually a game though, or more of an interactive 'Ah'm a live jsut like a reel human!11! ps humans suck' sob story like the trailer is?
Yeah, what Yop said.

If it was a full-blown feature length movie? Hell yes, I'd watch it on day one in a heartbeat!

As a game... ehh... pass.

It'll be interesting to see if she makes a direct appearance, or she'll be more like a universal setting for what's happening in general.

Quoting Force from the E3 thread:

As for the quantic dream game, didn't he say "These are our stories?" That kinda suggests multiple characters to me. Hasn't every Quantic Dreams game since Heavy Rain had multiple characters?

I think it'd be REALLY interesting if there were a number of different vignettes that all had branching paths that stood on their own, but were also somehow interconnected either loosely or closely. I'm still holding out until we know a bit more about it all, because with a name like Detroit it seems like there has to be more to the whole thing than just this one confrontation on a rooftop.

Well the devs were on talking about it after the stream and they clarified that the game has two main playable characters, one being Kara, the other being the dude in the trailer. Just to clear that up for everyone.

I got a bit mad watching this trailer and not seeing Kara tbh, it really seemed like they'd just ousted her for random male #24601. They should have clarified it during the trailer/ conference somehow.

I was reading the comments for the trailer for some reason, and I am fuckin astonished at how many people think that this is the entire game. Dealing with this girl being taken hostage, and that they're pissed because they showed all the endings... like... I just... WHAT?!?

Detroit: Become Human

This was easily one of the most interesting things I saw during the Sony conference. I've always loved games with branching paths, especially when it's tied to morality and the like. VERY interested in seeing how this plays out. Definitely one I'm going to keep an eye on.

He's wondering why it was merged.

Can we edit the title? I think the Kara tech demo part is unnecessary now.

a post mentioning it had been merged with something I had never heard of and didn't knew existed (and how they're related) would've been lovely (because confusion) :oscar:

The thread title's been the same since 2015 and it's not exactly a new game announcement, so I didn't figure there'd be any confusion just moving the post to the thread it belonged to. :awesomonster:

EDIT: I rearranged the listings of the things just now, so that Detroit: Become Human shows first.

that said, having watched a trailer for KARA makes me wonder if there's multiple characters that you control (Kara and Marcus?), or if it's just the one. It seems kind of Telltale-y in its choice presentation, which is neat. It does make me wonder what the actual gameplay is going to be like, though, whether it's just choices (in a kind of almost visual novel way) or if you'll actually be moving the protagonist around and doing stuff.

I think they said you play as three characters; Kara, the detective from last year and the dude from this year.

I forgot to mention that I played the E3 demo last month at EGX. It was the first time I'd ever played on a PS4 Pro on a 4k TV and it absolutely looked fantastic. I left a comment for David Cage in the feedback book and it honestly had me on the edge of my seat (ironically, I was stood up!). This is one I'm seriously considering preordering and I haven't preordered any games for such a long while.
