So, in Case of Barret, we learn that Shera suffers from geostigma. And Cid names his new airship after her. Do you think that's because she died? I cant remember if she's mentioned in DoC

I believe Cid directly references Shera (the person) in the present tense in DoC to Vincent, so no, I don't think so.

Yeah, if you talk to one of the engineers on the ship he says that it was named after Cid's wife.
