Difficulty hearing some dialogue? (no spoilers)

It only happens occasionally, but there are some times when I simply cannot hear what characters are saying. It's always during gameplay segments, not cutscenes or anything, and not only when there's a lot of action happening. It's very frustrating for someone like me that hates subtitles for english dialogue, when 95% of the time, it's not helping me any, but if I shut it off, I know that there'll be things I just won't be able to hear.

It seems to be linked to how close the character is to you, but I dunno. I've turned down the music and sound effects to 5 while keeping dialogue at 10, but it doesn't help. The sound levels for them just drop. Like, there was a part where Biggs was far away from me (required by story), and I couldn't make out a single word.

I'm really enjoying the game, but this issue is really irritating me

All the dialogue and music outside of cutscenes seems to be based on the position of the camera. It can be pretty jarring and at times it becomes difficult to hear characters.

I hope that this and the super obvious LOD bug can be fixed in a patch before long.

I had the same inconvenience. Pretty quickly I turned down the music volume to 7 with voices still at 10, it did the trick for me.

not just you. I dont think the sound mixing is very good in that regard. It's still better than it was in FF15, where entire monologues of major plot reveals were incomprehensibly quiet.

Is this present in any non-English audio, I wonder?

I'm missing a lot of dialogue because I can't hear it and the dialogue text doesn't stay on the screen long enough for me to read it.

Experienced this too. Really contributed to my bewilderment with the convoluted ending.
