I have an idea for a new Disney cartoon:
Plucky fifteen year old Bangladeshi garment worker, together with a band of adorable side-kicks, leads an uprising against an exploitative multinational willing to profit off the low wages and lack of safety regulations in third world countries, but so unwilling to let their brand be tainted with tragedy that they yank the jobs away from our heroine and her co-workers the moment tragedy strikes. Ultimately our brave and beautiful heroine triumphs, winning better working conditions for all her people, and a speaking engagement at the UN for herself.
Seriously - I am at a loss to understand why Disney thinks that pulling jobs out of Bangladesh at this juncture would do anything to help salvage their image.
