unsavory tart
Really? I think I only said I disliked the storymode in general once or twice. But that's because I hate the whole thing about it, flimsy character growth, groan worthy dialogue, and a terrible story. That being said, I find most fighting games like this so I'm just knocking on Dissida. But the game board design was just like another poke in the eye so I rather dislike it.This isn't the first time you've expressed a rather vigorous reaction to the board thing...what was so bad about it? Its not that I liked it, but rather never perceived it as something calling for an opinion, it was a means to get to the next battle and give you a few choices in how to handle that. Admittedly, its more than most fighting games give you.
What did you have in mind?
I'm mostly being melodramatic, it's perfectly ignorable at best, but an arbitrary nuisance that gets in the way between you and your objective for no other reason that they had to do something at worst. I just found the whole thing unintuitive to the point it became a flaw.
If I were to draw a flimsy comparison to another game, it something akin to... mining for resources in ME2. That or doing all those unnecessary hacks. You can do it, and the first time it doesn't bother you. But constantly going through the motion of the same busywork suddenly starts to make you irrationally hate it. I'm not going to say that ME2's resource pain and the storyboard are exactly the same, what I'm trying to point out it invoked the same amount of annoyance.
