So I've been playing heaps of the second one (and have over a hundred hours played on the first) but I hear surprisingly little about this game. It's phenomenal. Massive scale high fantasy rpg with huge amounts of freedom, XCOM-like combat and co-op.

Anyone been playing?

My brother and I tried the first one this summer. Didn't really get far enough in to form a proper impression. I actually have a spare copy of the game in my Steam account just waiting to be gifted to the right co-op partner. ;)

Haven't played the second one but I like the look of the DM mode.

Force and I played the first one for a while, before we got distracted by other games. I've been really wanting to pick it up again, but school is now running the show, so I might have to wait even longer :(

I'm just adding this to my list of games I'd like to buy and play eventually :monster: Looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

You can have it if you want. But then I think we should definitely stream our playthrough for the rest of TLS to see!

I got back into my playthrough of the second one the weekend before last. Basically played it all weekend and having a great time. The first one is of course good, but I appreciate the quality-of-life improvements to the second one and I also am finding the story to be a lot more interested in this one. The prebuilt characters are fun to play around with as well.
I've never seen a game come so close to capturing the ability to do just about whatever you can think of as in a real tabletop RPG. And I also like that the combat is properly turn-based. as opposed to the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/DA: Origins style where it's technically real time but you have to constantly pause to issue commands anyway.

It is hard as balls, though. I had to turn the difficulty down to "Explorer Mode." I'm not finding that a total cakewalk though, so I'm happy with it.

I'm itching for another playthrough of this, hopefully co-op with somebody or some people. Perhaps when the enhanced edition comes out that will spur me into it. The story is fantastic by the way and really lends itself to multiplayer.

Wait.... Actually turn-based???

I know this game had a DM mode so I was pretty sold (just waiting for a Steam sale honestly) but... XCOM combat is my fave.
