I got back into my playthrough of the second one the weekend before last. Basically played it all weekend and having a great time. The first one is of course good, but I appreciate the quality-of-life improvements to the second one and I also am finding the story to be a lot more interested in this one. The prebuilt characters are fun to play around with as well.
I've never seen a game come so close to capturing the ability to do just about whatever you can think of as in a real tabletop RPG. And I also like that the combat is properly turn-based. as opposed to the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/DA: Origins style where it's technically real time but you have to constantly pause to issue commands anyway.
It is hard as balls, though. I had to turn the difficulty down to "Explorer Mode." I'm not finding that a total cakewalk though, so I'm happy with it.
