So glad they clarified the number of parts. This was the biggest news for me. It's just so good to know for setting expectations and that, yes, this series has an endpoint, and yes, you won't be waiting for this story to finish in 2030+.

Some observations...

Crisis Core Remake looks like its either an action RPG or a hybrid action RPG. Having Reunion by it, I think its going to connect to 7R.

So expecting an ending retcon? Might rewatch the trailer and see whether whispers or anything odd is present.


The FF7R2 Trailer... from the way that was framed and the dialogue with Tifa, I'm thinking this might be substantially different to OG. At least, it seems like Cloud might lose it early and that throws a lot in the air.

I think R2 might be quite controversial.

Well fuck me sideways, this Christmas and the next are gonna be a goddamn blast! After FFXVI being announced for next year, I imagined this wasn't coming until 2024, so this was great news to see! Mt. Nibel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and I can't wait to see more over the next couple years.

Never cared for CC too much, but Reunion looks great! Guess I don't need to buy another battery for my PSP anytime soon (mine got fat during the pandemic and popped out of my PSP during the pandemic). I think it's absolutely safe to say the Square we knew is back.

The fucking voice acting with the new cast is good. I'm already feeling hyped hearing the new voice talent in this game. Goddamn it's going to be wild seeing what they do with this on next gen graphics. I can't fucking believe I'm living in a world where Crisis Core GOT A FUCKING REMAKE.

"approximately" three years, is the keyword here though, December of 2023 is already closer to 4 years than actually 3 years from April 2020. So while I do think they are probably aiming for a December 2023 release, the first two-three months of 2024 can still be a possibility.

Also looks like Crisis Core Reunion is officially being called a Remaster in the press release.

This is absolutely taking place after OG, not elsewhere or overlapping but after.
