Does anyone else imagine Quina as sounding like Cookie Monster?

I know in my head I always think of Quina(and the other Qu for that matter) as sounding like Cookie Monster, mainly due to both being extreme omnivores that speak in broken English? Does anyone else do this, or am I the only one? How many of you didn't before, but will from now on? :monster:

If you were the only one to think this, you are not anymore. I like the idea of Quina having a Cookie Monster voice.

I must be in the minority, because I see topics like this one come up quite often, but I never imagine what characters' voices sound like at all.

I imagine Quina as having the voice of a loud broken-voiced middle-aged Eastern European woman. Unfortunately I can't think of any popular examples of this to demonstrate :P.

OMG absolutely! I always imagined a Frank Oz kind of voice, maybe a Yoda mixed with Gilbert Godfrey, or Aughra from the Dark Crystal -- chain-smoking Muldovan woman also came to mind.

I'm on such a Quina kick right now. I'm currently nearing the end of my tenth(!) FF9 play through and s/he has me in absolute stitches all the time. I have no idea why I hated her for so many years.

Sidenote: I believe the Qu, in their need for experiencing taste, serve a very important function in Gaia's collective consciousness. They are an indispensable and wonderful feature of the planet.

When I'm reading dialogue there's an internal voice, but it's like it has no character or actual sound. It's exactly the same when I'm reading books. I don't imagine voices at all, I just read the words aloud in my head. It's not even my voice either. This is one of those things that never comes up in conversation and seems very strange when you're thinking about it XD.

B and I usually play together, so we usually split the lines approx. male/female and act them out. With the exception of Brahne and Vivi. He voices Brahne pretty much like Cookie Monster, and I give Vivi a bit more of that small kid touch. He hasn't done anything really particular for Quina, but I imagine him/her{?} with a really guttural voice that sounds a bit like his nose is always closed... Perhaps because he doesn't have one.

Can he even speak properly with his tongue hanging out like that all the time?

I'm the same with most characters. But I tend to give major characters voices. In the case of FFIX, I imagine Zidane, Vivi, and Kuja, who have all been officially voiced before, as sounding like said voice actors, I imagine Quina as sounding like Cookie Monster, I imagine Steiner as sounding like the late Robin Williams (may he rest in peace), etc.

Dunno why, but Steiner sounds in my head like BRIAN BLESSED, if he had an American Standard accent.

This is one of the reasons I prefer pre-voice acting FFs. Exception Balthier.

Edit: my phone auto-capitalized BRIAN BLESSED which has me in absolute stitches.
