The single player campaign looks like a great compromise for what hardcore Doom fans would expect as well with present day mainstays in video games.
I will say though that I'm sort of irked that it seems like multiplayer announces the spawn of buffs etc.
As a stickler for "the way things were" one of the coolest things about competitive Doom, Quake etc. was that it dropped you into an arena and then what carried you to victory was not only mechanical skill but knowledge of the arena as well.
Again Quake for reference but here is Rapha analyzing an old school final he was in. The mind games and movements these 2 payers made like 30 seconds in advance is kind of insane
On the other hand spawns being announced creates a battle point objective everyone is aware of creating a smooth flow of gameplay and action. Though I will say I'll miss the challenge of learning the timing of how maps work and excelling because of it.
