I've seen all the female romances and I've already decided if I ever play again I've be a male Inquistitor and I'll have the single goal of getting down Dorian's pants...

So sorry but I can't help. :monster:

In the Fade you see gravestones for each character, their name and their worst fear is written on each.

Dorian's is Temptation. Seems very fittings. :monster:

It totally is XD. Bull's is madness I think. I just adore how this game handled its characters, they're ridiculously well done.

I don't know if I love Vivienne because she's awesome and sassy or because I'm a gay man and I have some sort of complex. She is literally the medieval equivalent of Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada, and I love every single one of her lines. On my first playthrough I was very "free the mages!" focussed - now that I'm a Mage, I still sided with and chose to free the mages but I was a bit more pragmatic in my dialogue choices. She hated me the first time round (literally drawled "what is it?" when I spoke to her) and this time when I got to Skyhold I got like 3 scenes where she's like

"I ALWAYS HAVE TIME FOR YOU MY DARLING I SIMPLY MUST INTRODUCE YOU TO MY SEAMSTRESS MY DARLING ONE MUST ALWAYS LOOK THEIR BEST"

And I was just melting with all the "yes mawma werk" quotes in my head. I'm telling you, Viv gives me a bad puppy complex.

I started The Descent (I kept reading that it makes the most sense somewhere in the middle of the game) and I don't quite regret it yet, but the enemies are for sure a cut above what you get in the main game. I mean, I'm a Knight Enchanter and the game was feeling easy as frick on Nightmare (I've already killed 6 of the High Dragons and I wasn't even going to attempt them, haven't died once) but enemies in The Descent seem to just take a while to die.

Also I didn't get any fire moves until much later but Immolate is the most OP ability in terms of damage. I'm somehow getting 5k hits on multiple enemies at once. That and chain lightning.

In terms of story I'm level 19 and haven't done Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, haven't explored the Emerald Graves, Emprise du Lion or the Hissing Wastes at all but I've pretty much 100%'d every other area. I completely forgot how amazing this game is.

OK so I've just finished a run with all the DLC. I'm in love with the world again, and the Trespasser DLC was a particular highlight. So much so that I went back and recorded my version of the finale:

I got really emotional at some key moments in Trespasser, one of them being
the moment Dorian tells you he's returning to Tevinter. It's not a break-up, but it's really bittersweet, fitting for his character and his future and I'm really happy with it. A lot of people were disappointed but he's very clear even when you beg him to stay that he loves the Inquisitor but wants to help restore Tevinter's reputation. Trespasser handled this beautifully and I couldn't be happier with it.

In terms of Trespasser's story I loved every minute. It's really the heart and soul of the overall Dragon Age story IMO, or at least the ancient history of basically how the present world came to be, and that's what I find most interesting about this universe. There's so much to discuss it's unreal.

As can be seen from the video, I
chose to disband the Inquisition
, I'm not sure if I'll stick with that decision but I'm actually really happy with how it plays out in the epilogue, and particularly the scene is super enjoyable. Since you're told from the start that's going to be a decision, the story gives you a lot to think about re: said decision and I changed my mind so many times while playing. To the point that when the actual decision time came, I sat there for about ten minutes, then went to the toilet, thought about it some more, then finally pulled the trigger.

Phenomenally well executed from start to finish.

Spending time with companions was obviously a massive highlight. Viv's was funny as expected ("it's spa day darling!") as was Josephine's, but one thing I noticed is that both their stories take a more serious turn following the funny scenes (Josie gets super pissed at you as it goes on and Viv
actually founds a new circle in direct opposition to the one established already by the remaining mages, in my case Leliana was divine so it's a self-governed college of enchanters
. Learning about the number of ways it can turn out is astounding.

For example,
Iron Bull turns on you and you have to kill him - even if he's been romanced by the Inquisitor or Dorian - if you didn't save the chargers on his personal quest.
Which makes total sense with all you know about that race and the whole
reeducating thing
. Specifically if you have Cole along and that happens, he says
that Bull felt nothing
. So interesting.

I feel like I have a lot to say but I'm not sure how many people have played it so it feels kind of pointless typing into the void XD. But if anyone wants to discuss it, please get posting!

You just reminded me that I need to carry on Trespasser and my Nightmare run. I'm so stupidly close to the platinum and would have played the game 24/7 if I could. :monster:

Hnghhh.

Solas' "Because I am not a monster" line gives me chills no matter how many times I hear this dialogue. Props on props on props to Gareth David-Lloyd for his phenomenal job voicing these lines in Trespasser. I liked Solas a lot during the main game but this DLC has cemented him as one of the greatest characters of the series, at least for me. His believability as a character is incredible.

Also the music during the closing dialogue between Inquisitor and Solas is gorgeous.

since I'm currently laughing my head off at Cassandra! <3

I see the base game is down to 20$ most places (pc version). Doesn't look like a complete or GotY edition is coming. How much DLC is there, and is any of it worth it? Thinking about getting it, but want to know how worthwhile the DLC is before I pull the trigger.

The game of the year edition came out last year and it comes with all the DLC.

I wish they'd do the same thing with the bloody Mass Effect trilogy. To this day each piece of DLC still costs at least £10. And for perspective on that, ME3 came out more than four years ago now.

I should have been more clear. There is no physical version of the GotY edition for PC. Try as I might I can find no one selling it that way. There is direct from Origin, there is a code from Amazon. But if you'd like with a case to sit on your self, nope.

So I finished Origins earlier last week. :monster:

I romanced Alistair and found out that because I was a human noble I could be queen alongside him :awesome: So that's the choice I picked there.
The first time after the Landsmeet, I wanted to let Loghain live and join the Wardens as a fitting punishment/redemption thing, because that's who I am. However Alistair completely flips a bitch (totally surprised me) and leaves the game. :closedmonster: So I said "WHAT THE FUCK?!?!" and went back and redid the damn thing over twice (because Loghain killed me once more in the following duel). I dueled him as Morrigan and she was by far the best option out of the group I had, which was me, Alistair, Wynne, and Morrigan (those two mages are the best <3). Then I chose the option for me to kill Loghain for justice and to put Alistair on the throne with me as his queen. :awesome:
I honestly think the 'Loghain becoming a warden and replace Alistair as party member' plotline is a cool option, but definitely not one I wanted to follow through this first time around, so I didn't.
Also I debated with who to make king/queen. Anora has more experience and seemed well-liked, but also quite power-hungry and kind of a bitch. :wacky: Alistair didn't want it and so I thought I'd do him a favor and not have him be king, but that backfired (see above :wacky:) and then I thought of Aslan telling the Pevensie's that when you say you're not ready for king, that's when you are. So it was Alistair in the end. He's a nice guy. :closedmonster:

For the final battle, I just wanna say that the
(I had the Dalish elves, Redcliffe soldiers, dwarves with the legion of the dead, and mages for my selections)
was pretty fun and a cool addition. I never expected that!
I took Alistair, Morrigan, and Leliana with me for the final battle (the three I've had the longest, though I was honestly in an internal debate with picking Leliana over Wynne).
Oghren, Wynne, Zevran, and my dog Ventos guarded the gates. No I did not get Sten in Lothering during the beginning, I didn't know that was my only chance to get him and also at the time worried that Alistair losing like 14 approval points was a big blow to starting a romance. Little did I know you could build that back up pretty quickly and when I realized it it was too late to go back for Sten... Next time I'll get him though. :I

So to save Alistair and me, I convinced Alistair to sleep with Morrigan and make a baby. :monster: I tried to decide if my character would allow it, and figured in the end she would want Alistair to live.
Also it's a good thing I did because I happened to hear that if Alistair is in love with the warden, then he'll sacrifice himself no matter if you made the decision to, thus ensuring he dies every time. The bastard. >__>

So yes, the ending consisted of him as king, us both alive, Morrigan gone with her Old God baby, ect ect. :monster: Also I will admit to getting a bit teary eyed at Morrigan's farewell to me because we were like best friends in the game and she was all "You're the meaning of friendship" and thanking me for what I did for her (the Old God baby) and yeah. I liked that moment.

So I'd give the game an 8/10 I think, I really had a lot of fun with it and I'm sure I'll play it again for years to come.

Next playthrough I'll either be a guy and romance one of the ladies or I'll be another female and go for Zevran. Both sound fun, but I need a break. :monster:

You totally need to get all the DLC now, Witch Hunt in particular as it takes place after the game as well as Awakening. There are others that already take place within the game like Return to Ostagar.

Also much <3 to you, as you went for Alistair! :awesome:

Right so I want to buy Inquisition and have to do it through Origin because you need to download it even if you buy discs.

So they have 3 editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Game of the Year, with GotY edition having the most stuff with it and priced at $40.

Any suggestions on which I should go for? Is the DLC worth $20 more?

YES very much so I still haven't even finished the game but I have EA access so i'm in no rush but from what I have heard the second DLC or the last one is worth it as it kind of sets up the next game. I kind of ruined the game reading up on it. :( and the DA series is just one of those types of games where you have/ want to know every single little detail possible about the game.

Personally I think Trespasser, the final DLC, is the only one that is a must-have. The others are still good but from a story perspective aren't nearly as necessary.

So, currently playing through Inquisition, as a few people know already. Started at the beginning of the month, but had some time where I wasn't playing due to moving into the new house.

Currently playing as:
Female mage Trevelyan (a new one for me; I don't usually pick mages)
Approximately 86 hours in, bouncing back and forth between Emerald Graves and Emprise du Lion. Haven't even gotten to Here Lies the Abyss yet, don't really plan to anytime soon. I fell into sidequest hell right away.

Everyone's in the level 17 range. I've gotten my ass spanked by two dragons. A couple more levels and I'll feel comfortable to go back and take on that Fereldan Frostback.

I've recruited everyone. Dorian's my bff. I'm romancing Cullen because... I just have a type ok? :closedmonster: Think I want to romance either Josie or Bull in my next playthrough... a long long time from now...

Oh, I'm also playing on default mode because I skipped Dragon Age II. :monster:
