I don't hate Shinra either.
Although, I will admit that I found him annoying in the earlier episodes - but his humor really got to me, so now I really like his character; not to mention his father is just awesome. 
As for translations, I'll look for them to see if there are more.

Narita should continue writing Durarara and put Baccano on hiatus. dis baby's alot more cash than Baccano. Though I admit both have equal quality, I just find Baccano hard to follow in terms of plot than that of Durarara but it's implied

Baccano is a good series in its own right. But the animu made it short compared to Durarara. Light novels are translated as well. Good times. I just wish Durarara would get the same reception as its sister series because I WANT MOAR CELTY!!!!!! ; ___ ;

Alright so up to episode 14
I'm really liking the slasher plot in this season, and I really adore Shizuo and Izaya. They're two of my favorite characters. <3
I just don't get it to be frank. Yes, I understand that Shinra loves Celty and has told her so for 20 years, but there was never any real point where they seemed to really be romantically together. There was episode 4 where Celty was super driven to find her head and Shinra told her she didn't need her head, and then we get to episode 7 where she supposes what she feels for him is love and there really isn't any point of transition where we go from Celty being annoyed at him to Celty realizing her feelings for him or whatever. There's not really any reason as to why she suddenly likes him because there's absolutely no change in how he treats her or anything so it almost seems like she just kinda gave up and went along with his feelings. IDK.
It's bad when you start thinking another couple that has no romantic feelings for each other has a more realistic romantic development (I'm thinking Shizuo and Celty). Both of them were pretty good friends, had the typical anime romance interactions and overall, just seem like they've developed better than Shinra and her. But that's my two cents.

I find it more obvious that Shinra loves Celty; but as for Celty loving Shinra in a romantic way, it's left a bit vague. Shinra might only love Celty the way Seiji loves Celty's head - and I don't think there needs to be a change in how he treats her, just because he loves her. Though, like you said, it kind of seems like Celty just kind of gave up and decided to follow whatever he wanted. But I don't doubt that Celty loves Shinra in a romantic way either, I think she does - it's just... not shown as much as Shinra's love for Celty.
Honestly,
while I do like Izaya's characterization, I don't see why the hell he'd be so hateful on humanity. I mean, he grew up normally, I don't understand why he acts the way he is now. He's like an IRL troll, and almost everything that goes wrong throughout the anime is Izaya's fault. Eventually it's going to become redundant.
Like, Mikado.
What made him decide to move to Tokyo?

Perhaps there is some part of him that's yet to be further discovered, maybe Vol. 8 or future Volumes will depict his past in such a manner. There's still alot of ends that aren't wrapped up in the light novels yet so Yeah.
Might have to do with some event that involved him and Shizzy, and the twins. I hope the twins make their debut in the animu or a second season, it would be boss.

I guess I was just expecting something wherein something happens to Shinra and Celty realizes 'oh I really do love him' (RIKE THE TV TROPE ROFFLE) because I didn't really get that sort of impression when I first saw them, mostly because she just seemed annoyed with him. And then suddenly it transitioned to 'oh well I really DO love him, I guess'. If something was there in episode 4, then I'd find them more believable, but the fact that they seem to be in this new couple with no real reason just bothers me, I guess. It's like Fukushima and Hasumi from Kimi wa Petto, where Fukushima comes in and is like 'OKAY I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU LONG TIME' and Hasumi is annoyed at first but eventually gives up and marries her.

I like Shizzy better by far. I mean, yeah, he gets pretty violent, but he's also pretty protective of his little brother, a good friend of Celty, and overall a pretty dedicated guy. He's pretty sweet. <3

Yeah, I saw that too - but maybe because Shinra's grown up with her for all of his life, he can act the same way a little kid would act to a friend? I don't think she minds, and her actions (like punching him in the gut) don't really spell out romantic, but again, they are pretty odd for a couple.
I like Shizuo better because like Aki said, he is violent, but actually a rather sweet guywhen he's not angry. I don't think he wants to be violent, but it's his only way of expressing his emotions. And he tries not to get angry too, but he doesn't want to show any signs of weakness. Izaya causing people to gang up on him all the time probably doesn't help him find his peace. Also, I find it kind of adorable that he's able to talk to Celty in such a serene way but maybe that's because she never talks.
As much as I like Izaya, I'd choose Shizuo over him any day - Izaya is just one of those really clever trolls you hardly ever see, but wanting to screw over everyone with their gangs seems that he's a bit too mentally unstable.
I don't think he even cares for his twin sisters, either. Just himself. It'd be interesting to read about his past though, too bad we haven't got any snippets of that yet.
I like Shizuo better because like Aki said, he is violent, but actually a rather sweet guy

Also, in this episode, apparently Kida knows that Mikado's the leader of Dollars, and Anri knows that Kida is the leader of the Yellow Scarves and that Mikado is the leader of the Dollars.
