Damn you Miyamoto for just teasing Starfox. Dx

It does seem however like they only have a concept demo to show at this time.

I thought they were going to show a trailer too :C

I guess it's too juicy, they're definitely saving it for Nintendo Direct

I think I breathed the same air as Yoshida Naoki. I'm not sure if this means anything to anyone. A lot of people were really excited to see him. I had to stand with my back to him while he signed autographs (to make sure no one bumped into him since there was a big crowd). He has some really wild hair.

Tbh I was more excited about a ff lanyard that a Squenix employee gave me off his own neck. O___o

Ffxiv ain't my thang, ok.

That is awesome. I don't play FFXIV anymore, but I have tons of respect for the man- it's great to see someone so open heading a big Final Fantasy project.

Day two was some sort of chicken wrap and day three was....I'm not really sure what that was. It had some beef & broccoli, some stir fried rice with no flavor, a few little chunks of what I think was tofu, and an egg roll that felt sort of like a sponge. 8|

Returning to my day job this morning has me feeling really down in the gutters. I didn't realize how much I loathe my job right now. I'm still going to keep applying at SquEnix.

I forgot to mention that on day 1 and 3, my partner (another fella) and I received a thank you from the SquEnix staff (in front of everyone) for doing a really good job at selling people on a game called Nosgoth. My head still hasn't deflated. :D

I had Theatrythm on day 2.

I got a few FFXIV bags, some Sega bags, a couple shirts (including my staff shirts), and like I said, a SquEnix employee gave me the lanyard off of his own neck. I tried finding it on the SquEnix store, but I can't, so I'll have to take a pictar of it later. It's white with little 8-bit versions of a variation of FF characters from different games.

The people who actually work at SquEnix were very nice; they made sure we had water, ensured that we took all of our breaks, came around and asked us how things were going, etc...

So all in all, a pretty damn good E3, I think. Not necessarily the hypest, but definitely miles better than what we got last year overall. Each of the Big 3 throwing out titles and announcements that justify an eighth-generation purchase, looks like it'll be looking up even for all consoles, even the WiiU at this rate.

The caveat is that as someone who hasn't invested in anything yet, I still personally haven't been presented with a compelling reason to buy an eighth-generation console right now. The majority of the hypest stuff seems to be coming in 2015 - absolutely without a doubt great stuff to get excited over (and the stuff that is coming this year is great too) but with these sorts of release schedules these consoles still are in relative infancy. It'll be great to see their games libraries mature throughout up to next year but so far I'm not feeling passionate enough about the PlayStation 4, Xbox One or WiiU to actually go out and get one of my own :monster:

By far the best thing about E3 this year has been the huge indie presence - Sony covering its usual bases with the same strength that it has in the past, but also Microsoft really driving home their new focus with the ID@Xbox label. There were also quite a few of Kickstarter games being shown like Star Citizen and Alive: Dangerous, though it'd be nice to see IndieCade having a little more screen presence beyond Gamespot.

Overall I think it looked like there was much more positivity for that 'next-gen vision' (and just a lot more... energy in the presentations) on the show floor this year, where everyone can see where the hardware is going with its software. Great time to be gaming.

Are you the girl talking to the two dudes behind the presenter?

Yap yap, that's me; the half blonde half brunette. :monster:

Benoist, I think somewhere around here, I mentioned that Theatrythm isn't my thing, but since I was covering that area on Wednesday, I had to play it and I was actually mystified by it. The first few times I tried playing it, I did so without the headphones, but playing the game with the music was pretty facking awesome.

I haven't played the first one, but this one is supposed to have 221 songs and 60 different characters. There are three different song settings: field, battle, and cinematic.

Field (green) shows your character (or airship) traveling over a well known field map from one of the FF games. I played the Hilda Garde song and it showed the airship flying around the Iifa tree during the song.

Battle (red) displays four characters on the right side of the screen battling an enemy on the left side of the screen.

Cinematic (blue) displays a clip or FMV from the game. The One Winged Angel song showed a clip of the battle against Sephiroth in Advent Children. There was also a Lightning Returns cinematic that showed the intro FMV to Lightning Returns.

I'm not sure if summon monsters count as cast members to appear; I did see Ifrit and Chocobo as summons during the battle settings...

I want Nanaki!!!!!!

EDIT: I just realized that everone here probably knows all of this already...

Last year had Microsoft getting bent over and taking it without lube while having to beg for seconds. Nothing will ever top the entertainment of E3 2013.

Last year was definitely more entertaining with Sony verbally abusing Microsoft and Microsoft doing one massive stupid thing after the other. This year had more substance to it, much more games etc.

I'm glad the games were thought of this year.

WOULD ANYONE THINK OF THE GAMERS?

Last year was basically a fist fight from the Special Olympics. I'd rather have substance in my industry events kthx :monster:
