Despite the zero Remake news, I mean there were a few things that caught my interest. Tentatively is the Detroit android protagonist game, just because of the rpg elements (just curious to learn more really).
Moss looks adorable, just saying.
Shadow of the Colossus, pretty interested in that. Awesome timing because I've never played the game, and was just shown game footage from the original earlier today; after hearing a bit about it and watching one of the colossus fights from the original, I've definitely become interested in it. Want to play it now. Looks like a one-of-a-kind game.

I'll agree with you Flare, SoTC remake looked pretty good.

But I'm very disappointed at no Remake news, possibly something might be said tomorrow, but I'm not betting on it.

Like X said, makes me wonder when Square will show more to us.

Tokyo Game Show might be a possibility for VII news but, not holding my breath for it. The pre-E3 conf coverage we were watching they were talking about VII right before it all started and they were pretty skeptical about it being shown, and said something about it being confirmed to not release for 5 years...??

I honestly really don't think it's ever coming, guys. I know I said this a couple of weeks back, and I wasn't trying to be negative then, nor am I trying to now -- I just don't feel like it's actually coming out before some massive shakeup or downturn at SE comes first.

Can anyone else actually visualize it in your head as real? I can't.

Yes, easily. Like they probably already have poured enough resources into it that not finishing it would be more costly. Also if anything they have to finish it simply as a promise to their investors and stockholders. Like I know some of Square Enix's public relations practices can be frustrating but they are ultimately kinda understandable for the type of company that they are. Worth noting: We didn't get anything on The Last of Us 2 either, so there's plenty of cool stuff that's not being shown off at E3 currently. A little disappointing, but not anything world-ending, imo.

Um, he kinda goes into subject pretty extensively so it's sorta difficult to summarize. I don't know what kinda beef you have with this person but I thought the video was perfectly fair and empathetic to both fans and SE, IMO it's definitely worth the watch.

Tres, respectfully... I hope you are wrong here, as I'm sure you do as well.

Although it seems the Remake, (especially with the shift in development focus as of late), is going to be riddled with development problems much like XV is. At least this time, Square can't cut out and change the entire plot line and not expect the fans to know.

What still boggles my mind about still having no news/new footage is... back in February when MAGIC 2017 was going on Nomura had a trailer he wanted to show the fans. Albeit it was most likely going to be a show case of the bombing mission proper and mainly the Guard Scorpion . Regardless of what the trailer was Nomura had something to show us. And Square didn't let him show it.

Meaning, for at least the past 4 months Square have been sitting on content and a finished trailer to potentially show us. If not at E3, then when are they going to give us more? Tokyo Game show? PSX 2017? E3 2018?

Honestly now that I've seen nothing from the Remake save the 2 screenshots the first half of 2017, I'm having my doubts it'll come before 2019 unless for these next 6 months we get some substantial new drop.

It just looks like better graphics, and the graphics on the original aren't even that bad. Is there going to be any extra juicy bits? Obviously for those who haven't played the original then I guess it's good but....*epic shrug*

Might be that there are some sensitive politics at play since CyberConnect2 is seemingly no longer involved with the making of FFVIIR. Square might not feel comfortable (not just emotionally but also from a legal standpoint) showing off CyberConnect2's old work as Square's own. Worst-case scenario, Square is starting over almost from scratch with FFVIIR. =/

I'm happy to concede the point. To argue against myself, I doubt the remake would be too different from the original. It'd be like if FFVIIR added to the main story line of the OG, which I think would not be a popular move .

I think the biggest thing could be making the camera and other controls a bit more solid/modern. Even people who REALLY love the game often get a bit frustrated with it at times in the HD remaster, and I think it'd help it stand well with other modern titles if they do.

While the previous game WAS complete, it'd be interesting if some small areas of the map and other things were made accessible, or they hid other little extra secrets and such here & there. Insofar as the story and its narrative, it's definitely a complete game, but it'd still be really neat for fans of the original to have something new to hunt down and explore.

I can't be the only one who doesn't mind it if some remakes are literally just older games remade with epic today's graphics, am I? I mean I'd love a remake of the original Deus Ex with today's graphics, even if the story and gameplay isn't really touched upon. I haven't played the original SotC yet, but if this remake is basically the same game with just today's graphics, I don't think I'd mind, I'd totally still play it.

(That being said there are certainly games where I'd like to see a bit added to, be it gameplay, story, etc)
