Okay guys, so my first official act as the new Fan Works Editor is to have you guys do my job for me.

Obviously I will be referring to the fanart and music master threads in this forum, but I also want a nice central place for you to share any specifically FF7 (or Compilation) themed pieces that you feel might not fit under any other categories. Fanfiction, fan music, fanart, fan videos, anything is up for grabs. Anything that gets posted in here I will try to feature in the upcoming roundup at some point in time, though obviously this may be staggered. Share your favorites and I'll try to get to them!

Also, I want you to use this thread as a means of plugging your own work that is compilation related. If you have done something, I want to see it, be it any manner of fandom. There is a vast wellspring of talent in these forums and I would love to have the chance to highlight them all in my roundup. Some of you might even be featured in an article!

Edit: Also, I have two fanfictions selected for the first roundup but both are comedic, so if you know any good sad or serious fics that's in high demand ATM.

Hi Jason. I'm shamelessly pinging myself for this and will probably catch flack for it later. My team member and I wrote a complete novelization of Crisis Core that's getting some really good feedback and traffic right now. I'm up to 7k followers on Twitter with it. There's a whole explanation of my what's and why's in my inaugural post here, where you'll also be able to find links to the story.

I also just started writing a pilot for a novelization of the original game that throws the canon straight out the window (I know there's a canon novel floating around somewhere). After I finished Crisis Core, I took a scalpel (pile-driver) to the lore and pretty much filled in all the plot holes.

I intend to make all of these stories as games in RPG Maker when I'm done, with comic book style cutscenes ala Gravity Rush, reminiscent of FF6. I'm sure this has been done to death but I'll add my name to the list for closure.

^ 1) Self-promotion is what I'm most interested in. I want to make sure that everybody here who has done something great gets some recognition and potentially even front-page time. Don't worry!

2) I'll definitely check out that novelization. Multi-chaptered pieces take me longer to get through (obviously) but I'll look into that alongside "Death Is Part of the Process" by Licorice.

3) RPG Maker, no kidding? I love that software and am actually about to release a game myself (anybody friends with me on FB knows I'm waiting for my Beta testers to finish up). What version do you use? I'm on VX Ace myself.

4) Yes, I HAVE seen your ballpoint art and it is absolutely mind-blowing. Don't worry that's already got a spot alongside what Pixel has shared.

Jason, you don't have to feel obliged. It's a mega-undertaking.
I think it would be cool to profile ObstinateMelon and see where he plans on going with his comic. He hasn't updated in ages.

Other fan works that to me represent a huge investment of time, effort and talent are:

FFJason with his stop-motion videos using Advent Play Arts figures

Kyol Dubskie and his Crisis Core Dub Parody, often quoted in our house - "Sephiroth, get me a cherry coke. Zack, get as far away from me as possible."

Scorpicus. She hasn't been active in the fandom for ages but she created some great stuff.

Honestly I couldn't even tell you. I literally just started the download for the most recent version last night and am still waiting for it to finish on my cruddy tether connection. I know absolutely nothing about it but I'm looking up how-to guides, and my other teammate has used it before. Any tips or pointers you come across I'd be all ears for. And PM me a link to your game, I'll shout you out on Twitter or throw you a FB like.

Umm... First one kind of runs the gamut, especially in the later installments. Second one is more serious.

You can ignore pretty much everything else on the site. It's my older work and I'm not overly fond of it these days (read it if you want... a few are decent, but not award-winning by any stretch of the imagination). These two, though, I'm reasonably proud of.

*Cough, cough* I ah...I'm just gonna leave this here. I have a funny relationship with this story. On the one hand, it's my pride and joy, and I wish I could rediscover the kind of inspiration I had when I wrote it. On the other hand, there are some momentary cheesy elements that make me cringe and wish I could go back and do it "smarter"...

Basically, it came about when I decided to explore the question of what it would look like if Sephiroth got serious and used the full extent of his power.
