My absolute favorite summon animation in the series is Final Fantasy IX's Bahamut. The way he swoops in and the sonic boom follows him is great. FFIX also has my favorite Leviathan. All around it has really good animations.

After that there's Anima from FFX, Bahamut ZERO and Hades from VII. Also I love Odin in Crisis Core.

Definitely Shiva I always loved using ice magic anyway so when I was able to use an ice summon I obviously jumped at the chance.

Oh and Knights of the Round deserves a mention since if it wasn't for that I'd never have beat Ruby and Emerald WEAPONs.

I thought half the fun of prolonging a battle with an aeon was to slowly mess with the enemy and then whip out the goods later to finish the fight. Just me then lol.

VII - Alexander. The actual summon is really good, but I love the way you obtain it. And Kjata, for the same reason.

VIII - Shiva, Diablos, Gilgamesh, Odin, Bahamut

X - Yojimbo, Anima, Valefor

XII - Can't decide. Two much awesome.
