Pick your four favourite songs from the selection above!

If you can't decide on just four, you can vote for as many as you want, but only in one poll of the 20 in the first round. The full list of upcoming polls can be found here.

You can listen to the songs in the playlist below.

This poll will be open for three days, and at least four songs will qualify for the next round.

Other popular names for these songs include:

Town Theme - "Tenderness in the Air"
Something to Protect - "Protecting My Devotion"
Spira Unplugged - "The Sight of Spira"

Harvest was amazing, and was only beaten out by Home,Sweet,Home for my favorite FF5 town theme.

Setzer's Theme should have been the real airship theme IMO. It's a great character theme.

FLWV - Come on, this song is absolutely astounding!

Something to Protect- Ditto. Can't be articulate. Eating a corndog.

I do almost regret voting for Fithos Lusec *Wecos Vinosec because "Exploration Battle Theme" is so good from XV, but since it doesn't have a name I'm pretending it doesn't exist yet :monster:

Something To Protect is another I would have voted for at all costs, I almost sacrificed Battle 2 for it because I wanted to vote for Spira Unplugged, but Battle 2 is such a phenomenal boss theme I couldn't drop it.

I found this the easiest so far, but the use of the word "easy" is too generous.
It's all so fun and stressful :monster:

Searching for Friends (Final Fantasy VI): I like it because it reminds me of The Mysterious Cities of Gold intro song :P. It similarly evokes in me a strange 1980s nostalgia :awesome:.
Fithos Lusec Fithos Winosec (Final Fantasy VIII): Same reasoning as my vote for the succession of witches, except this time with more oomph :P.
Something to Protect (Final Fantasy IX): This scraped in to win my vote, tbh. I like its sound a little bit more than the others I didn't vote for :P.
(Unnamed song known as "Exploration Battle Theme") (Final Fantasy XV): Quality music like this makes me look forward to FFXV whenever it comes out :awesome:.

As much as I love VI's music, IX beat it out with~

Something to Protect - I know IX has a lot of nostalgia for me and it fuels my picks, but regardless, it still has such memorable music. Who can listen to this and not remember fighting on the stage and trying to impress the crowd and Brahne? :awesome:
Tantalus's Theme - Makes me think of the gang, and it's catchy.
Spira Unplugged - X's music, yet again, is also a soundtrack I love. This song is one of the more unique ones in the game, and it's so casual, both upbeat in it's notes and yet calm. Perfect for walking around in the Besaid village.
Song known as 'Exploration Battle Theme' from XV - This is actually the first time I've heard it, but I already really like it. Beautiful notes, very adventurous; I can see this playing as you explore, battle, and as events play by while you watch and interact. It's somehow reminiscent of an older FF game.

There's a steward's inquiry into "Exploration Battle Theme". It appears the video that Ghost originally linked to with his nomination, and which appears in the playlist above, is, in fact, a fan arrangement.

The only "official" version I can find is the video below, which is significantly different; the "unofficial" song is based on the second half of this, starting around the one minute mark.

I'll update the playlist, and allow anyone who wants to change their mind about this song (either to vote for it if they didn't before, or to vote for something else if they did) to do so - just make a post in this thread.

Also, if an admin could correct my Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec mistake in the poll, that would be much appreciated. :)

^In that video, where the Exploration Battle Theme is at the 0:55 mark, is from then on the arrangement of the video I found on YouTube, so my vote certainly still stands for it. Thanks for putting that there to clarify, Flint!

The poll will close in a little over 24 hours.

My top pick is Hope of the Future. I hadn't actually heard it before this event started, but I love it already. It sounds like it's straight out of an epic film.

My other votes are for Setzer's Theme, Tantalus' Theme and Spira Unplugged.

An honourable mention to Searching for Friends.

My top four:

Hope of the Future Something is stirring in the undergrowth. A majestic plant pushes its way up and blooms majestically against the backdrop of a setting sun. This song could be the soundtrack for BBC's Planet Earth. Really stunning.

Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec In the days before voice acting, the music was the character's voice. This song is haunting yet mesmerising, perfectly befitting for the most bewitching villain of them all (you might as well call this "Edea's Theme").

Can't Catch A Break I don't think I've ever heard a song like this in the FF series. This song right here... It's got swagger. Makes me want to dance.

Nautlius At once both grand and understated, I love the variation in this composition. I haven't played FFXIII, so this song has no association with any part of the game to me, but it makes me think of a costume parade. A glorious song for a glorious occasion.

Steward's report: Dark and Divine accidentally voted for five songs and has requested that her vote for Spira Unplugged be annulled. If an admin could take care of it, that'd be great, but otherwise I'll just deduct one from the count when I put the results into my spreadsheet.

Again I feel really lonely with my four picks. :( This group was by far the easiest. My top four was Harvest, Town Theme, Spira Unplugged and the Unnamed Song from XV.

My top picks this time were Spira Unplugged and the Unnamed song. I knew already when I saw the list that those two would make it to my list and so they did.

Spira Unplugged I love because it's really calm but really positive at the same time. I like the way it uses the melody from Suteki da ne but makes it sound like a different song even though it really is just another version of it.

I remember hearing the Unnamed Song in the trailer for FFXV and immediately fell in love with it. The waltz theme is so beautiful but still very grand at the same time. I really want to play this game.

Town Theme was my third pick. It has a really nice melody and this one is another calm one.

Last piece that I picked was Harvest. It just marginally beat Searching for Friends, maybe because it really stood out in the group and because I really like the festiveness of the song. Searching for Friends gets my honorable mention in this group.

The five songs that I've mentioned here were really the only ones to make it to my list of possible songs to vote for. Something to Protect almost made it to the list, but then I decided not to include it as Roses of May is going to be in a later group and since they have the same melody and I prefer Roses of May I thought that I could easily not vote for this one.

This poll is now closed. The songs which have definitely made it into the top 100 are:

Setzer's Theme
Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec
Battle 2
Something to Protect

If your favourite song isn't on this list, don't despair! It might still get in as one of the best runners-up.

Thanks for voting!
