i am so serious with this idea guys i don't even.

i could scan and translate doujins but would anyone want to clean them up/format the text and junk so we could get an AWESOME TLS DOUJIN TRANSLATION GROUP or anything?

I think this is a brilliant idea. I don't know fuck all about japanese though but I can find my way around photoshop so I'd be willing to help. Should point out that I've never done anything like this before so I might make a bollocks of it.

I'm not fluent like you, but I know some Japanese. It takes me, like, half an hour to translate one substantial text box. What I am good at is turning the 'feel' of a sentence in a foreign language into English. So I guess I could do clean-up, or anything that would help. I'm sure the exercise would make my japanese improve.

I also have some doujinshi I'd like to see translated once we exhaust yours. I think this is a great project.

So here's some job descriptions insofar as me recognizing what the job actually is:

cleaners need to erase the Japanese text and also brighten up the page if the pages were yellowed. So basically, just getting it to look pretty.

Text formatters will be charged with getting the text to look neat and nice on the pages without screwing up the existing text bubbles. Also, generally they decide what text to use for translation that looks clean and easy to read.

Translators and scanners are self explanatory, but basically you just scan what you can find or translate the text from Japanese. You will get credit as part of the team who has translated the doujinshi, ain't that nice? So if you can help, please do so! <3

I would like to timidly put up my hand for some translating. I can work it into my Japanese lessons. But it will be very slow going; I have a very demanding job, Hallowe'en costumes to make, and fanfiction to write. Still, I wuld really love to be involved.

i have a cloti anthology (and another cloti doujinshi wow i am a biased tlser) which i can try scanning tomorrow or next week. If anyone wanted to do the cleaning and typesetting, we could start to work on translating?

If you have one where most of the kanji have hiragana as a superscript, that would be better for me since I only know about 2oo kanji, and there are so many that look closely alike that I have to keep double checking. Also please bear in mind that I am nowhere near Hito's standard. My teacher congratulated me the other day on being about to graduate to "intermediate" level. And my Japanese is all textbook Japanese, not the more "spoken word" kind they use in doujinshi. So don't expect too much, OK?

no problem! i know a pretty good amount of kanji and i generally check the meaning to be sure on jisho.org or my denshi jisho. and i will probably ask hito if he has time to check over the translations to see if they sound/look like crap or if he has a better suggestion for a word.
