This is from the latest ultimania, it's confirmed that this memory (of her calling him and him ignoring her) has been manipulated by Jenova and Tifa in fact, did not notice Cloud!

To me, it's really interesting as it is a callback to the OG flashback where later on the real Cloud talks in our dream and asks where is Tifa, why didn't we talk to her, etc. I think a lot of us got a sense of "mmh, is this memory a true one, or a fake one?" when we first saw it. I think that the fact that it was largely accepted as a real one made the devs want to point it as fake in the Ultimania lol. I must say it's really clever, as it showcases, to the question "what is your relationship with Tifa?", the truth beneath it: Cloud wants to be noticed by Tifa.

That is freaking awesome. I mean, it was relatively clear that it was a modified memory cuz of the greenish glow static thing before the memory started. Anyhow I freaking love it. I think they are going hard on the theme of false memory and false identity and I think this will be the main theme of ff7R.

If only they made Tifa’s reaction to Sephiroth in chapter 17 with this level of attention to detail.

By “latest” do that mean it’s from the Ultimania Plus or the Material Ultimania?

I dont know what's the best topic for this, but here goes. They changed the intro music in Intergrade.

The choir has new lyrics now, not OWA anymore I think. The melody has changed a little bit too. I wonder why did they change the lyrics... For a story reason? Can't wait to see is there something else new too besides the obvious PS5 enhancements. I'm replaying the whole game before playing the Intermission dlc.

^ Same here, I'm replaying the PS5 version before playing Intermission. Enjoying the Photo Mode despite its shortcomings. Actually, I found that increasing the distance of the camera from the character (in the Camera and Controls settings) helped a bit with having more room to move the camera around. It's good to finally be able to take in-combat menu-free action shots.

So this is really happening! I'm playing the Remake! Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :aah:

Now, emotions aside, I'm spending a ridiculous amount of time just walking around and playing with the camera, lol. The combat is surprisingly enjoyable, and really, playing it is NOT the same as watching it in the slightest.

Have just had so much fun trolling Jessie when frying myself on the laser. She says some hilarious things like "Are you sure you're a SOLDIER?", "Are you doing it on purpose?", or "Have you got a fetish or something?" Love it. Love this game :D

Double posting, but I've just finished Chapter 1 and my mind is wandering a lot.

The main difficulty so far is controls. Judging by my posts in other games threads, controls are probably my main trouble-maker all the time, haha. I have a big gaming experience gap between PS1 and modern games, so it's taking a while to get used to moving the character with one stick and moving the camera with the other, especially doing it quickly in a battle without mixing it up with switching between characters.

When I was admiring the mako swirling in the reservoir, I remembered the times when I used to play those good old PS1 games where similar imagery was just a bunch of rippling polygons, but our imagination was working wonders. Modern games take the load off imagination because they offer fantastic quality but instead they involve convoluted plots and subtle character interactions that make us think and analyze more as a result.

I love the fact that the characters remind the player to heal them -- I tend to fail to keep everything under contol so far :mon:

The battle with Scorpion was awesome, but it took me forever to finish. Glad it wasn't included in the timer.

I also have a bit of an issue with the internet connection. I don't have wi-fi, and my home internet cable doesn't seem to work with PS4 bc it demands a specific configuration that I can't wrap my mind around, so I had to create a mobile hotspot (thank Planet the traffic is unlimited) to use it like a wi-fi network and download the game. It took a couple of hours, and the phone was overheating so I put it in-between two tins from the fridge :wacky: I disabled the hotspot while playing Chapter 1, but when I completed it, the game told me it hadn't been installed completely yet, and returned me to the main menu. I'll have to see if I'm going to have to use the mobile internet every time I need to progress in the game -- and keep my phone stuck between frozen items LOLOLOL

Can't wait to play further. I thought my love to this game and this fictional world had already reached the limit, but I obviously got my second wind today.

Same thing happened for me a few years ago, when I finally started catching up on PS2/3 games while everyone else was on the PS4. Playing FF12 and Oblivion was like major culture shock. And even those games are a little less frenetic than FF7R ?

Have you tried playing around with an inverted Y axis? I found that to be a game changer!

Haha, FF12 is yet to be played, but it's not in my priority list at the moment. But now that have a PS4 controller I can actually give it a shot. With my old mass market noname controller that I had grabbed ages ago without knowing anything about modern controllers, it was a nightmare :D

While I was waiting for the game to finish installing, I replayed the fight with Scorpion and did much better the second time. I think I already got used to it, but thanks for the tip! Should defo try it out.

I have a quick question that I think can be easily answered. Why does Barret say "double time"? I understand that double-time is a kind of overtime where the worker's pay is doubled for the extra time. Does that mean Barret, Tifa et al are paying themselves for the hours they work for Avalanche? That seems unlikely, but then again, they have bills to pay like everyone else. I can't figure out why he'd say "double-time" otherwise. Can it be used colloquially to mean "we gotta hurry"?

"Double time" is just an expression meaning "do it quickly" basically. It's military slang.
