Briana White explains Aerith's whinny after the Abzu battle:
(time stamp should take you to 3h42m44s.)

I...

I can't watch Brianna White because I feel likeI have imprinted all my Aerith love onto her, and she's so sweet and charming in her own right that watching her stirs up some deeply complicated bisexual feelings.

I...

*Tim Rogers voice*

I love her.

Yeah I just thought she was being...cute? I thought it was kinda weird but didn't dwell on it. Definitely didn't connect it to Corneo. And yeah like Cannon Fodder said, Corneo never seemed to be on the distinctive laugh list like Scarlet, Heidegger, or Bugenhagen.

I was talking to someone who's replaying in Japanese and one of the differences he pointed out to me was Aerith doing corneo's laugh here in Japanese where she didn't in English.

What I'm saying is that I don't think that many people realize that's what her weird noise is supposed to be. I sure didn't correct the guy at the time.

Interestingly, you can enable photo mode and take a good picture during a fade-to-black. The last picture was taken while the cutscene was displaying a black screen. For the anecdote, you can also take a picture of Cloud during the fade-to-black when he's sitting on a bench to take a breather (showing a pose that otherwise you can't see).

astray ay-ay-ay
Chapter 10 is so short and uneventful after Chapter 9 that I'm at a loss for words. Wow.

Also, what Shademp said [2]

I wasn't underwhelmed by this chapter, I think its length is just right. Enough corridors to keep you running, enough gimmicks to keep you exploring, enough enemies to keep you entertained, enough cutscenes to make you go awwwww. Actualy, I loved the industrial feeling of it. If I was braver, I'd definitely go exploring abandoned factories in real life. Even when I come to the Volkswagen plant where colleagues and I teach a few times a week, I feel thrilled to walk through production areas or to follow my students to parts of the plant I've never been to yet.

I died fighting Abzu once because I wasn't careful enough to notice the deadly water coming out of the wall, so the party was freaking washed away to the depths of hell. It went much better the second time.

On the same topic, I greatly enjoy how this sewer level looked. But you have to turn your brain off when it comes to the level design. Are you telling me that Cloud, who has already demonstrated amazing SOLDIER-style jump capabilities, can't just carry the ladies under his arms and jump over this gap? Yes, plenty of levels would be shortened massively if the game remembered how well Cloud can actually jump. Would not be surprised if Tifa was capable of making the aforementioned jump too.
He just didn't have a full ATB :monster:

By the way, it's going to be a while until I see Chadley again, but I have problems increasing stagger to 200%. How do I do that?

Always a pleasure to read your impressions, Torrie :)
Re: stagger to 200%, Tifa's 'triangle' attacks and their Unbridled Strength counterparts (Rise&Fall / Omnistrike) are able to increase the percentage of the stagger gauge, so I advise you spam that. Also useful to know, because you can use those attacks to increase the stagger gauge percentage before unleashing a more devastating attack (e.g. Limit Break)

Thanks @Mayo Master, it's a really exciting journey through the game, and it was so much worth the wait

Re: stagger, hmmm it doesn't sound so hard in theory, many thanks for the tip! I'll try it in the following chapters.
Oh, and I forgot to mention - although it may seem obvious: the higher the level of Unbridled Strength attacks, the more you increase the percentage of the stagger gauge.
