There have highways leading out of Midgar since Advent Children and given that I doubt Midgar conducted literally all it's trade and immigration by helicopter, I'm sure that was always the intent.

I was going for a tongue-in-cheek observation regarding the highway ending abruptly in the original game. =P

Jenova was called Jenova BEAT or PULSE in Japanese.

For some reason, the English localization team named it "Dreamweaver" here.

"Quickening" is reminiscent of "pulse" or an accelerating heartbeat.

Right. Quickening appears to me to be closer to what it was in OG.

Did anyone think that the explosion that happened at the end of the game (that pushed Zack back) was maybe Zirconaide being defeated?

I thought the same at first. Zack's "death" happens in late September. Zirconiade was destroyed on Oct 5th. If we just go based on timeline, the "destruction" of Whisper Harpinger wouldn't have caused the explosion then either. That would've happened at least two months after Zack's death.

I'm not sure I follow your meaning. There's an explosion at the end of September for Zack, and October 5 isn't in September, so ...

Also, the gold rain from the Singularity is simultaneously falling on the Sector 7 refugees in their December. October 5 isn't in that month either.

Zack could've been unconscious for a week. He wakes up, and then the explosion happens.

Trying to link Zirconiade's destruction to the particles falling in December would be more difficult to justify

I know it did knock him down, but I forgot he was leaning on his sword right before that. The way I remembered it, was he was on the ground and got up, then after a few moments was knocked down from the explosion

And that's a wrap! It was good to be a paparazzi for a round.
Anyway, now on to InterMission (finally)! I'll spend my first playthrough without spamming photo mode, though, as I just want to take it all in.

Still in awe that there's an entire Advent Children Highway Chase's worth of action scenes interspliced between gameplay in that motorbike chase. Like at one point Cloud cuts off the propellers of a helicopter. That didn't register until my third playthrough because of all the sensory overload. One of my favorite parts of the game.

Cloud also nearly got Aerith, Tifa, Barret and Red XIII killed thanks to dropping a helicopter carelessly in their path while driving on a highway.

Arbiters of Fate were shaking their heads at times.
