FFVII Text Dump

Would anyone out there happen to have a complete text dump of the original game? I've been looking for proof of certain lines of dialogue, which are incredibly hard to find in most posted scripts, as it doesn't give the option for every possible party combination dialogues.

Any version of the English localization is fine, whether it's the PSX version or the PC version.

Thanks for your help!

I have a complete dump of the field text (so menu and battle text are not included), but it is not ordered in any way. It's a straight field script rip which is difficult to navigate unless you know the game files of FFVII.

If you still want it, I can send it to you. However, if you have questions about different lines of dialogue you want to find, ask me about them. I can confirm if they exist and how to trigger them. Without exaggerating, I am an expert on the subject of the FFVII field text.

That would definitely be appreciated. My email is skibalovesya-at-yahoo-dot-com.

And I'd ask you to trigger the dialogue except I'm not entirely sure what it is I'm looking for. The closest I can come is something I read where if you return to Cosmo Canyon after Bugenhagen's death, but without Nanaki in the party, he is alive and shares some dialogue. I haven't seen it in my copy and I'm wondering if it's in the game at all.

I'm suspecting you may be mixing up Bugenhagen with one of the other Elders, Bugah or Hargo. There is no glitch where you can talk to Bugenhagen after his death, so either this is just a false rumor or somebody has been playing a bootleg copy of the game.

Follow this link to download the script rip:

Hopefully you can open and read Excel files. Take note that there are numerous tabs in the document.

Cosmo Canyon consists of the following fields so these are where you want to look:

I suspected it was wrong the moment I read it. It's on the Final Fantasy Wiki under Nanaki's page:

"If the party ever returns to Cosmo Canyon without Red XIII in the party, Bugenhagen will be alive and well telling Cloud he had to fool his grandson in order to get him to fight his hardest in the upcoming battle."

That's the problem with Wikis. With that much freedom somebody is bound to troll, sooner or later. :monster:

Anyway, if you ever have any questions about the game script don't hesitate to ask. =)

Please do edit that fail out of there, and leave a note on the page of whoever added it. Code of Wiki and whatnot, :monster:

"If the party ever returns to Cosmo Canyon without Red XIII in the party, Bugenhagen will be alive and well telling Cloud he had to fool his grandson in order to get him to fight his hardest in the upcoming battle. Then he pulls Aerith out from behind a curtain and says 'Surprise! I had to do the same to you!'"

Fixxed.

Isn't it meant to be if the party return to Cosmo after the whole Aerith/Ancients Key thing, without RedXIII he'll be alive and say a bunch of stuff, but if you have RedXIII with you it triggers his death scene? But that only happens once off course.

I might be wrong though, its been a while since I played that part. It could be that RedXIII turns up to trigger the scene regardless.

Edit: also regarding editing that ffwiki - I tried that when some noblet put renos non existent birthdate in the timeline but then when I went back it was still there :/
