Yeah it is, just wanted to say that:

Kitase: We changed the name from Registan to Zanarkand.

Good! because Registan sounds crap.

Actually, Zanarkand sounds crappier, but Registan has a more middle-eastern and/or former-USSR sound to it, so associations might've occurred.

Watanabe: I’d considered having Auron be Jecht. Pretending to be Auron, but actually turning out to be Jecht. I planned to have him watching things all along, but that would have resulted in Jecht having a leading part, so I gave up on the idea.

Am I the only one who thinks that could have worked?

Presumably that was early enough in development that Auron's and Jecht's stories and appearances hadn't been finalized yet. I mean just look at this pic:

One of these characters could be an early Auron/Jecht design for all we know.
