Hello,

i didnt know where to post my Question, so i decided to post it in here.

I want to run FF7 on my new Laptop but my textures look like this:
Oh i cant post my link.... but i will try something

My Laptop:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
2048 MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M (Optimus Technologie)
Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.0 - 2.9 GHz
8192MB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM

What I have done:
Installing the game
TrueMotion 2.0 codec
1.02 patch or xp-patch(tested with both)
chocobo patch

it doesn't affect my gameplay just the graphics and infight all looks normal.
in the config i have selected NVIDIA and the necessary 3D-features says all O.K. except 8-bit Platted Textures

Can you please help me or give me a link to a Forum where i can get help

You know, normally we wouldn't allow you to just blatantly spam up your post count, but you appear to be a human so I'll let it slide. :monster:

That's a real fucked up problem, but unfortunately I'm not tech savvy enough to answer it.

Can anyone help him here, this shit really sucks. :(

Ah man, FFVII on PCs nowadays is always kind of a hassle. I had some problems just getting it to work on XP. >.<

Looks fucked up. You could try running it in compatibility mode (right-click the .exe, properties, go to Compatibility) and set it to XP or whichever version it still worked under.

Other than that, I dunno. I find PSX emulators to be much more reliable, :monster:.

Sheppard, it looks like the drivers that your graphics card is currently set to are not compatible with FFVII. I would suggest that you open the settings window on your graphics card and try switching to a different driver set. The problem likely lies in the fact that you are trying to run FFVII, which is made to be run in a 32-bit operating environment, in a 64-bit operating environment. If you've tried all of the 32-bit compatible drivers that your graphics card supports and the problem persists, the graphical glitch might be resolved by either lowering the resolution or by running in compatibility mode.

ok i solved the problem.... :-)

first i tried your advices and changed driver sets, and compatibility mode.
nothing worked.

Then I tried something new. I read you have to run the FF7.exe as administrator, cause otherwise it cant safe your games. So I did this all the time.

But now I tried to run the FF7Config.exe as Administrator, too. And all options were standard, then I set the NVIDIA option true and started:

Then turning RIVA 128 to TNT and all looks nice.

SOLUTION:
Run FF7.exe and FF7Config.exe as Administrator.

Thank you all for your help. I already tried the compatibility mode thing before but as you said i retried it and got the idea with admin permissions, so thank you all.
