FF7? ....Nah. Aerith dying was one of the producer's way of getting revenge on the world for losing his mom.

Or at least, that would be MY reason for writing the plot that way.

Widely believed, but incorrect. His mother died well before FF7, and lead to the ideas of the lifestream concept, not Aerith's demise, since 'someone's go'n die' was part of the plan from day 1, and was Nomura, not Kitase's idea.
