Getting Over it with Bennett Foddy

So, I first found out about this from the HatFilms video, and then they did it on stream, and then they just released another video. I simply can't get enough of watching people play this game, and the amazing frustration it causes, so I needed a thread for it.

There're speed runs of it in 3 mins, and even seeing people watch them is satisfying in a different way, once you've witnessed the pure rage that this game can produce, seeing it done in record time is all the more satisfying.

The Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy Speedruns are fucking mind-destroying.

At any rate, if there're more good videos of people trying the game, feel free to poast them, etc. GotY for sure.

You can tell there's still a lot of mistakes or imperfections in that run, so getting below that should be doable.

If the name Bennett Foddy isn't familiar to you, he's the guy who made QWOP, which became a bit of a meme for a while a few years back, and many other flash games. Little Master is my favourite and has been in my bookmarks folder ever since I first played it.

Hot damn, that first space meteor hit though....I remember seeing the 2:04 run and feeling shit knowing it could have been 2:02 or something because of hitting a rock in the space part :/

Still seems like a lot of imperfections that could be improved upon.

Yeah but unless there's some glitches or magic happens, no or not much more than 10 seconds I'd argue.

Also, he's beat the game 610 times. For a game where a single minor mistake can be a hard reset, that's definitely enough for him to be happy to never do it again.

Have any of you actually played this yet? I got it for free but I haven't installed it yet.

I won't really have a computer setup to play anything on unless I REALLY want to get my external mouse/keyboard set up on my work computer, and there's no way I'd play that on a trackpad, so I'm still very much in the "has only watched it" group, and will likely remain there.

I saw Markiplier throw a chair in rage at this game, I dread to think what I'd do TBH. Hilarious if it's someone else, not so cool if it's you. JackSepticEye was very entertaining playing it. I reckon GotY should be Cuphead TBH, not this maddening POS.

I did hear Cuphead was h*cking difficult though, I'm not sure if that didn't cause any chair throwing <_<.

I watched Dodger stream this the other day. She was almost disturbingly calm.

It's amusing to watch for a while, but I would nope out so fast that I'm not even going to try.

It's good to see QWOP guy make something again though. Makes me nostalgic.
