Rad, new active members! Um... I'm not a mod or anything, but imo game-ifying the forums might change the way some members interact with the forums, some might start binge-posting without anything to say, and some of our less active but much loved members might feel drowned out... but that's just my opinion.
I doubt that this is something that the higher-ups would ever implement here. However, I have seen it work wonderfully in other forums eons ago where the monetary value was attributed to a post being 'liked' X number of times, rather than the simple act of posting.
I'm not keen but I'm not going to oppose it if others like it. We need to brace ourselves for an inrush of new members and make sure they feel welcome. There's nothing worse than a clique of old-timers passively-agressively squeezing out the newcomers. That's what killed the Genesis Awards.
I'm going to say no for now. There is a kind of hidden exp system that we can explore in future but a gil system ala ACF just isn't necessary at this time.
Personally, I'd rather the staff here continue to focus on the types of things they've been doing with community events and such rather than setting up a forum economy and making rewards - I feel like the former is a more direct way to foster discussion.
Uh, so, are these guys ex-ACF spamposters affecting circa 2005 internet mannerisms or are they actually sincere? Not trying to be rude, just genuinely confused since both options seem kind of improbable in 2019.
