The breaking down of the DMW at the end of Crisis Core was much more emotional and heart wrenching than the jPop finale.

It was a stroke of genius. Completely gut-wrenching, totally unexpected, and worked on a literal and metaphorical level. I mean, it was like a poem, or like what a poem would be if it was in a video game. It was the thing that had the single biggest impact on me of anything in the compilation; I still get chills thinking about it, and I have never finished a game of CC again because I can't bear to. And I'm fairly tough.

I really like the part where Ben moves the Island. I wish the Compilation would have expanded more on that. But it really showed tremendous characterization on his part.

The best thing about the Compilation is how it was able to bring all of us fans together and allow us to meet each other. The thing I'm happy about most is actually being able to have gotten to know all you people and share something in common with you all. I think that beats out all of the shit the Compilation, right there.

Zack! I was always curious about who Zack was after I watched the flashback that Cloud gets when he goes into the Nibelheim mansion basement after Mideel.

Seriously? The game pretty much says everything important about him. Crisis Core doesn't expand on his character in any, just more things happen to him. He's still an ambitious SOLDIER who was Aeris's first paramour, was friends with Sephiroth, Sephiroth betrayed and mutilated him. Instead of Shinra helping him, the company he worked for treated him like a lab rat until he escaped. He decided to turn his back on societal roles and tried to become a mercenary before getting a face full of lead.

What more do you need to know? That he had a wise old master that wasn't Yoda Sephiroth? That he did more things?

I have to say when I first saw ACC it was at my friend's house and I nearly hyperventilated by seeing the new upgraded Seph and the whole recreation of the FF7 world.

I had images stuck in my head for months.

Another thing the compilation is good for is fanfiction, I've noticed. While the compilation itself has never managed to be anything more than decent at its best, it has produced some extremely good and well written fanfics that I would argue are almost on par with the OG.

Anyone remember that Hadriel guy? I recall thinking I'd rather play a game based on his ideas for how the Compilation should have played out (which he outlined in a long post). Fanfiction isn't always about drinking spirit orgasms in the flower field.
