it's been the most amazing birthday, let me start by saying that on NYE my mum messaged me (she and my dad were at a wedding and my friend was staying with me) to go into the guest room in our house and she had 3 huge beautiful storage boxes for me to open, these were filled with childhood throwbacks, new presents, and these three amazing scrapbooks and photo albums which she had made completely from scratch with photos of me from my childhood, my grandparents, my parents, friends. it would have taken her months to do that, I was so touched by it.
Then my two best friends suggested we go out for dinner for my birthday last night, for those of you on the discord chat the other night are aware I'm not a big birthday person and I don't like a fuss, so low key dinner and drinks sounded fantastic. The restaurant we went to last night asked what we were out for and my best friend mentioned it was my birthday so after dinner they brought out a birthday cake and complimentary glasses of prossecco all of their own backs, thought it couldn't any better my two friends also had nothing to do with it, the cake was sooo huge too that I told the staff there to take the majority of it, I was so grateful for the care and effort the took.
My best friend then suggested we go to a bar near by before we went for cocktails to round of the night, which I was more than happy to, so we go in and down toward the bottom of the bar I spot my brother and a couple of his friends, genuinely didn't think anything of it as I knew they had made plans to go out, then my mum and dad were there and my relatives and the shouts of HAPPY BIRTHDAY came....
For those of you know have known me long enough on here also know I have a twin brother, well it turns out my two best friends, his fiancee and my parents planned a surprise party for us, the majority of our relatives and friends were there (fair play to the relative half of them were at said wedding my parents were at and were seriously hungover). Neither of us has any idea and last night was the most amazing night and birthday I've ever had (and it wasn't even my birthday yet) My best friends said the hardest part was how they were going to convince me to go out because the know I really don't like a fuss and they had about 20 different plans to get me there, turn out if you tell me we're going for an Indian and one of my best friends who can't always make it out tells me she wants to take me out for dinner and is all they needed to convince me. My brother was far easier to get out because he goes out every year on his birthday.
I had no idea ( my best friend said my face was priceless coming in, I looked so shocked my brother had turned up 20 mins before I did and he was just as shocked as I was) and I was touched especially for the effort my future sister-in-law went to, not just for my brother, but for me too, she instigated the whole thing, she had rented out the upstairs part of the bar for us and had blown up pictures of me and my brother everywhere , I have never had a better birthday and while I'm absolutely hungover to crap today it's in the best way possible.
