They look like petit fours, which are cute and fun little pastries that are a pain in the ass to make

On my FB feed was your profile and FB saying it's your birthday and that it reckoned I wouldn't want to miss the chance to wish you a happy birthday. It was totally correct - Anyone else's birthday today is a sham and made to turn one's nose up at. (Just don't look at Force's thread! I wouldn't dare post in there - not a chance)

French Fancies - miniature sponge cakes with a fondant filling covered in a very uniform layer of icing (watching them being made on Great British Bake Off was hilarious, people were close to breakdowns over them). They do come under the umbrella of petit fours but have a range of flavours and finishes. TL;DR, delicious and entirely possible to eat a plateful without realising.
