Wow, I just played an FFVII demo from 1996... It was win.

The gameplay elements, and the fonts, were much more similar to FFVI. So much fun stuff one could observe...

The site that linked to this, qhimm, said there are probably no legal issues with people downloading this demo. I used a PCSX emulator to play it, but I guess ePSXe works too (can't check that at the moment).
