I said you were grumpy, I never said I was offended by it or anything for that matter, It's just something you've seemed to perceive.

There were no other people fitting you're description in the thread so saying you were talking about the "other people" is silly.

I think you being an admin you should try and be more welcoming and friendly to new members, taking into consideration their age. Try and tone down the arrogance a little too.

Very well, I'm sorry for getting worked up, I just overreact (and regret it later) and I have anger Issures, I do respect you for doing your job though, really. I'm not used to being on forums, this is the first forum I've taken part in really so I'm used to this sort of...environment.

Looking at that thread, I don't really see any problems from staff on the first ten pages, though admittedly I haven't read the first few in awhile. Most of it is just playful banter or corrections of people's mistakes, which is fine, people should expect that on a message board, and I don't really get what DLPB was complaining about.

Telling people to "stfu and stop complaining" or "stop whining" or that they're "getting worked up about nothing", though, isn't really the best way to handle things; it's likely to be taken personally by the person targeted by it and make them defensive, and may possibly (as in this case) be perceived as an attack by people who aren't even the intended target. The best method to address complaints like that is by simply pointing out calmly that the general consensus seems to be that corrections of people's mistakes and playful banter are acceptable by anyone including staff, and that if people have serious complaints they should raise them either in the feedback forum or with admins via private messages.

Thanks for the info, It's not that serious, I'd never want to complain. Decon is a good mod and I can tell hes a nice guy. I just overreacted.

You're correct, but sometimes I wish that this community wouldn't have to worry about that. I know I say it often enough, but there are places where everyone can get along with saying stuff like 'stop whining' and so on without any major complaint. While being courteous is something to strive for, I am also of the opinion that forming a thicker skin can help prevent issues as well.

While being courteous is something to strive for, I am also of the opinion that forming a thicker skin can help prevent issues as well.

While in general I don't disagree, we also have to keep in mind that there are going to be sixteen-year-olds who have never participated in a message board before, and thus I think it's just common sense to go at least a little easy on them
