I'd like to see Reno added to the date options at Gold Saucer.

This would actually be quite good, as an Easter Egg. If X conditions are met and then you think you're going on a date with Aeris or Tifa or whoever but then Reno OR TSENG! Turns up and you have to fight a 1-1 battle on the Gondola and you can win some sort of rare item or something.


oh and yes. FIGHT TSENG!

Making the chocobo breeding and racing more expansive. Using the different nuts instead of the only 2 you actually need to get all the different colours. Even if they don't do anything. I mean you could make a whole game in itself with that. The option to rent out your villa for x amount of Gil per hour of gaming. The chance to level the buster sword up so you can use it throughout the entire game. Maybe that's what the "shroud" is for. You can upgrade the handle and hilt etc. okay I need to calm down now...

One overall thing that I fully expect will be changed is all the various times the game forces the team to "split up." Obviously you'll have a party size limit, but I mean like how what lines are said in cutscenes is based entirely on who is in your party. I expect most all of the important cutscenes will always have the whole party together for them as has been the case since FFX.

I'll just list these in separate posts for now. And this is more along the lines of 'wishful thinking' for me.

First up, I'd love to see nods from Crisis Core.

Have the Shin-Ra execs mention Lazard occasionally, and how screwed up things got after he jumped ship.

Have an NPC mention how much they miss Banora apple juice.

Angeal. I think it would awesome to hear Cloud talk about his 'mentor', Angeal.

Come to think of it, it be freakin awesome if all the fan clubs were still active in Midgar! JOIN ALL THE CLUBS!

All of Aerith's flower wagons that Zack built. I spent so much time gathering all the crap for that--I wants to seez them! In the church, by Aerith's house, I don't care.

I'd love to have the party fight a few Genesis clones during their travels in the remake.

YES! Something needs to be done about this. Whether they add a bit more dialogue to confirm what happened in canon or just cut to a hardcore FF7 sex scene where Cloud whoops out his massive sword and ploughs Tifa over a rock. Either way I NEED ANSWERS!

Though Dirge people tried to say that's when that took place, Nojima later said that no, it happens at the end of the Midgar Raid.

LOL. I feel like this would massively disappoint some people. But I'm not one of those people so I don't care. I'd love to see the date options expanded.

This also made me aware of how much I'd love to see anything that plays on our expectations. Anything where the game keeps playing out just like the old one, but then they throw in something completely bizarre.

Let me date him too. Let me date Reeve and wonder why he seems so detached, like he's not even listening to me, and then I find out it's because he was stealing the keystone as Cait Sith the whole time. And I'm like, this was the worst date ever.

Do you think they'll give him the Scottish accent? Speaking of accents, it'd be wonderful to hear the diversity in dialects and speech patterns if the NPCs end up voiced as well.

The Reeve date wouldn't work since Cait made a point of reminding everyone they couldn't really harm him after he pulled that stunt since Reeve was out of their reach.

. . .okay I know realistically that it would make no sense to be able to date Reeve but let me dream ok

Also, yeah, isn't the accent mentioned in an ultimania? That Reeve based it off his parents? Ain't it cannon? I could be misremembering, it might have just been a different dialect, not such a pronounced accent.

Yeah, that'll be interesting to see how they pull off Cait and the moogle. I'm sure they'll both be there, though. One thing I hope for is a better voice actor for Hojo, in particular - in DoC he sounded almost corny and cartoonish. I'm hoping for a more sinister take this time. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat) would, I think, be perfect as the voice of Hojo.

I'm sure they'll stay true to the core story, but I hope they preserve some of the game's quirkiness as well, because it was pretty out there at times. I'm re-experiencing it now as I just started a new playthrough yesterday after watching the trailer. I was going to wait until I got the new hardcover startegy guide that's coming out next month (along with the ones for FFVIII and FFIX, they're being released in a box set with updated content and extra artwork), but the news of the remake inspired me to start sooner.

It would also be great if they could incorporate "This guy are sick." somehow, like she misspoke or something then corrects herself. That line isn't just memorable, it's iconic. It captures FF7's quirkiness and offbeat humor in just four little words.

And I wonder how they'll do Cloud sitting upside-down on the ceiling of the Northern Cave when he gives Sephiroth the Black Materia? That should be interesting. And maybe they'll sneak some kind of teaser into Cloud's coma dialogue again like they did in the OG for Xenogears. Maybe this time he'll say "Chro... no... Break..."

One can hope, anyway.

i hope that the voice actors have Nanaki as his accepted name or both at least. I never understood why he didn't just tell them his name, only to make you all look like a dick when you get to Cosmo Canyon.

If I remember correctly, they had the name "Red XIII" before they had like anything about his character. So I assume they made the thing about it being an experiment number given to him about Hojo just to explain why he had a weird name. Then later were like, wait but, this character has a whole name and a life outside of Hojo's lab, maybe we should give him a real name.
In short, just bad writing. Writing that happened linearly - and didn't clean already written events up - rather than them looking at the whole picture.
Now that they can look at the whole picture, I expect a lot of stuff to get cleaned up.
I always just rename him to Nanaki, and I know I'm not alone in that. Maybe they'll keep him as Red XIII for fear of changing anything too fundamental, but I think it would be weird.

I also call him Nanaki. Makes for interesting conversations later on lol. Nanaki himself tells the party that hojo calls him red xiii so you would have thought a highly intelligent being would resent being called by his specimen code name. The only logical conclusion I come to is that he doesn't fully trust the group/ people enough at this point to divulge his actual name.
