Humiliating First Fanfiction / Writing

^That takes me back to when I was all of 13 or so, and the internet was really just catching on in the form of AOL and such. Yeah...I remember those days.

Don't slink away. That's some good nostalgia.

Yeah I used WayBackMachine to try and find an old fanfiction website that shut down ages ago for some of my old fics... must have been 11 or 12? But none of the pages lasted. I might have some of it somewhere on some CD's of old computer data.

I remember vaguely writing a lovestory between Yuffie and Red XIII.

Disclaimer: Red XIII turned into a boy after crying at his father's statue and his magic tears turned him human. :monster: Like most weird animes.

Channy: Like this!

Kionae: No one ever did that.

Flare: Maybe if you had no talent.

Channy does a little dance.

OneThousandCuts: Definitely no talent.

Sadly, I don't remember them, probably because I never really read fanfiction online until about 5 years ago. :( I had dial-up internet, okay? I just wrote corny stories that I thought were cool and they ended up stretching oooooon and ooooon...... I have seen stuff like that before, just not a lot.

I should add, I find it hard to read fanfiction these days on FF and stuff... I like reading them when the characters are in character, and it seems like no one writes them like that.

I had dialup too in those days. For like.. the first seven years of my e-life before it finally came out to my area. Didn't stop me foruming though and fanficing. :monster:

I not only had dial-up... I had dial-up that only let you use Lynx to browse (because my parents were hella cheap) until NetZero came along. Still managed to get myself onto fanfiction.net. ;)

Well, I didn't have my own computer when we had dial-up; the only time I got to go online was using my dad's computer, which meant the time was rare and restricted to when he wanted to use his pc again, and I only used it for a few sites (I never really knew about forums back then, and I didn't know about fanfiction.net either. Actually... I used Quizilla. :wacky:)

Holy shit Quizilla! I remember those days! Those were a gas. (did I really just say that??) Yeah, when we had dialup and the one computer, my family was pretty good about taking turns. My parents weren't all dictator-y about it, but my sister would be a total bitchbot about interrupting me with the phone.

Any of you ever see those fanfics that were based on AIM / MSN etc? I wrote one myself but the best one I read was The Summoner's Party gets AIM by abbyjenna. It's pretty amusing.

My dad's a big pc gamer, and in those days when he was home from work, he'd usually spend time dinking around on his pc; also, the computer was in my parent's bedroom, and there were only two chairs in the room, and they'd watch tv sometimes too at night... so no chair meant no pc use. :D Haha, but I never really minded, I was too busy playing with my sis and cousin or my video games. :awesome:
The times I did get to use his pc, I usually spent that time playing games on it. I ended up using the library computers about once a week in my mid-teens.

I think I have an idea on what you're talking about Jason, but just to be sure, what's AIM / MSN stories?

I'm guilty of contributing to a few of those... mostly in the Star Trek fandom. Thankfully, I think they've all disappeared into the ether at this point.

Hm. I can't remember which thing I wrote first. I know when I was a kid, like maybe 10, I wanted to write an X-Men/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover. I felt like Jubilee wasn't getting too much love, so I had her run away from the X-men mansion. She somehow ends up in the sewers when she's running away from some monsters. The Turtles intervene and help her out.

Yea. I was kinda crazy with those ideas back then. Still am today. @_O

Meh... You don't know crazy. A friend and I once co-wrote a Star Trek Voyager story that for some bizarre reason culminated with Captain Janeway giving birth to a park.

So... Yeah.

....A park, as in, one full of trees and grass and benches and ponds and...people? :monster: Sounds impressive.

Yes... that kind of park. I vaguely recall playground equipment being involved as well. I almost wish I could find the damn thing now.
