I cannot remember one anime show's name

Hi guys. I know this is stupid, but does anyone know the name of an anime that I'm about to describe as best as I could? I've only watched the first two episodes when I was a kid and I vaguely remember the plot of both episodes, but I just can't remember the name of the show.

It's about a teenaged guy-I think his name is Tenshi or something-finding a laser-like mystical sword once wielded by his ancestor, and accidently released a human-formed demon named...Rioko, I think, who has blue-green weird hair and is very womanly with a short temper, and I remember a small girl character named Tsunami.

For years, I've tried remembering the name of the show, but it never came to me. I've seen images of it here and there, but the name is lost to me.

Ryoko was my first anime crush(still is).

I remembered the first two episodes of the show-the original anime-but for the life of me up until now thanks to you guys, I just couldn't remember the name of the show at all and it's been driving me crazy for years. Even my sister didn't remember it.

It was first introduced to me by a friend of mine maybe around 13 or 14 years ago, while, yes, the anime was released in Japan the same year Sailor Moon was first released, but was dubbed in English 8 years later.

Update: I've watched the episodes of Tenchi Muyo original anime(which was the first one I've seen, haven't seen the other versions yet) and the first episode, I have to admit, made me laugh so much, especially Ryoko's reactions.
