Story-wise, I do believe Nanaki does deserve more screen-time as well, being you don't see him much. Same goes for Elena and Tseng, who need more parts in a plot. However, being it actually IS hard to do fur in modeling and such, I can understand why he hasn't had much screentime as it is very time consuming and very tedious (<-- has dabbled in Blender a little and looked up many videos and tutorials on modeling). Hopefulyl tho, if a new title is done, maybe they'll have a bigger team to share modeling, animating, etc more and it won't be so pressuring on only several people.

Anyway, I feel, Nanaki, Elena and Tseng need more room in a plot to be active (and maybe Rude and Reno being a little more serious).

The core of his story deals with ShinRa science experiementation, being the last of his kind, and communicating with the Planet, not to mention being the only non-human sentient species you encounter. I can't believe that they haven't attempted to do more with him already.

I used to think Vincent and Yuffie needed more screen time, but Dirge of Cerberus used the opportunity to change that. Now I avoid using them whenever possible while replaying Final Fantasy VII. Points for irony--isn't that the purpose of the whole cash-cow exploitation thing?

I had once wrote a story(for the fancomic) entirely about Tifa with Cloud barely in it, while she adventured around the world with Red and Cid trying to stop some maniac scientists who were using strange apparatuses that harnessed the tainted lifestream to raise dead SOLDIERS and Shinra MPs as their army, with their ultimate goal being to find the areas of the world where the most tainted lifestream gathered, and eventually blanked the entire world in it, because they had judged that the tainted lifestream was the natural state of the lifestream, and that all life contradicted the taint.

I had Tifa become the lead character because she was infected with it during a battle between the scientists and the wro's forces in edge, where she had been knocked into a well of tainted lifestream. Being the only person the scientists knew of to survive infection longer than a short period, she had become a target, so she fled her home to keep from endangering her family, and to stop the madmen from making it any worse, with the aid of Cid, Red, occasionally Vincent and Reeve, with the other characters being Cloud's support team as he followed Tifa's trail in an attempt to catch up with her and help her. All the while the tainted lifestream would be slowly killing her, but increasing her strength.

Looking back it was just bad fanfiction, but it was fun to think of.

That's better than another fanfic I read. It was about Vincent fighting an underground army of super-soldiers no one had ever heard about, that was being lead by a digital copy of Hojo who was possesing their leader's body.

I was tempted to vote Aeris or Tifa, even though they get screen time it's pretty much utter bullshit. As everyone else has said, Tifa's story is too dependent on Cloud when a story about her becoming a part of a terrorist organization is much more interesting. And Aeris is our gateway into Cetra lore -- I know we get some exposition with Iflana later, but seeing it from an adolescent growing into those powers would be fun. Her heritage was a huge part of her character I want more of that and less of herp derp let's make a wagon Zack

But anyway I voted for Red XIII. He's got an interesting background and culture; and he's an entirely different species we could stand to learn more about. It's like wtf Square you could write novels on the things to do with this character.

They should give more screen time to the 'minor' main characters. I'm not talking about the compilation either, just the FF7 game itself. I voted for Yuffie since she's my favourite, but arguably most characters could do with more screen time =p.

I'm going to have to jump on the Red XIII bandwagon, because for one, he looks cool, and for the fact that he has an incredibly long lifespan. I'm probably in the minority, but I would love to see some sort of Red sequel starting with the 500 years later sequence, with Red telling the story of FF7 and afterwards to his cubs. Just the fact that all of his friends died (excluding Vincent) while Red was still in his prime--that must have been really hard on him. It would be nice to see some perspective on how he felt during that.
