Inter's Art

Ok, so... I started drawing a lil less than a year ago, but I fell off very quickly. Mainly because I hated most about what I made, and motivation/self-esteem issues, etc...

But, I really want to do it, and I've been trying to push myself back into at least trying to draw something, since I first dropped off. So, I figured as more or less a last ditch effort, I may as well start a thread in an attempt to shame/push/obligate/whatever me to at least doodle something.

So... here's what I have so far. Tifa, some girl from a google search, Laguna, and Lulu with unfinished hair

I really like the mischievous look on Laguna's face. I would have known who they were without being told.
Keep it up, Inter. It's really true that practice makes perfect. Do you ever use any of the online drawing tutorials?

Thanks... :geek: Unfortunately, it wasn't intentional hah
No, the most I've looked up has been those cartoonist vs animator buzzfeed vids
Nice sketches! I started working on a final fantasy art book about a month ago. If you would like to contribute some to it, let me know. [email protected]

It's for personal use, so no money would be made off of it.

Oooooh, another one who gets bit by the art bug. Sweet!

I might not be the one to give advice, but... don't give up. Seriously.

Godspeed!

Hey. I'm an art fellow myself, so I figure I can say something or other. Learning to draw takes a lot of time and patience, and you're probably not going to like much of what you make for a long time, but you need to stick with it. It took ten years before I got to a place I was happy with, and I can tell you that your example there is already worlds better than where I started. If you want to keep the self hate down, don't compare yourself to other people, focus on what you can do. And if you must compare yourself to others, don't think about how they're better than you, think about what you can learn from them to improve. Gotta focus on upward momentum.

I hope some of that was motivational and I'm not a rambling idiot.

I like how you are doing the shading on these. I started out just line drawing and refused to shade anything because I was so afraid I would ruin it. It took me years to get to the point you're at. You are off to a good start with the shading and once you get that figured out, the rest seems to fall into place. And the biggest tip I have is to be patient. Drawing takes time, LOTS of time. And practice. So just keep trying. I can already see a difference from the first pics you posted to the second :) And keep sharing your progress!

Thanks... hah :wacky: I feel like the shading makes it look better than it actually is. I can't really take credit for improving between the two pics I posted tho, cause I didn't draw anything in between them. I think it's just cause Brooklyn isn't human, and I find humans harder to draw
