Yes. It's not about using one's brain, it's about how many quotes one can C&P. It's not fun anymore. People are so intellectually dishonest. Anyone who's played the game knows Cloud wasn't wooing Aerith in the park or anywhere else. Where's the intent?

No, CALI said 'NOMURA SAID', and she lied about that. Yes, it says this is a date, but it does not say they went on multiple dates or 'were dating', nor is it anything nomura said or confirmed, as Cali and others have said several times.

Yes, this quote exists. No, it does not absolve their not providing it, nor does it say what they say it does.
And at this point, I have no lingering benefit of doubt for the people I see making these statements.

I'm going to have to agree with this. Quoting what I said at The Northern Crater:

If the Complete Guide calls it a date, then we'll have to refer to it as one -- but I'd like to point out that neither of the characters involved seemed to think of it as one.

Cloud wouldn't have thought of it as one (he'd intended to leave Aerith at her house), Aerith didn't seem to think of it as one (she spoke of their arranged date later as though it hadn't happened yet), they weren't hanging out for the purpose of a date (Aerith was taking Cloud to Sector 7), and they didn't even stop at the playground for the purpose of a date (Aerith asked if they could take a break).

If simply hanging out and learning a bit about one another constitutes a date, then what does one make of the Lifestream sequence in Mideel and the conversation between Cloud and Tifa below the Highwind?

Both of those certainly would fit the criteria if taking a break at a playground does.

Because I'm sure there's at least one rabid pinker who actually believes there is a vast, Cloti conspiracy...

While we were doing translations for the CC Complete Guide back on ACF, we were only doing the actual keywords from that section that interested us, or would yield some good, storyline info on the game. None of the translators or I thought there was anything significant to the whole "Date in the Park" one, and tbh, I still feel that way. Just sounds like something a LT minded person would go googly eyed over. We never intended to translate every single word or phrase, because that would be a shit-ton of work to do, for things that are mostly already known.

Huh. I was under the impression that all of them had been translated. Perhaps a line should be added to the translation page saying "selected translations from"?

I don't get this letter thing... did Tseng just never bother to tell Aerith that Zack was dead and or missing?

What's not to get?

One of the reasons why Tseng and the Turks wanted to find Zack and Cloud before the army did, was so that they could save them and not have them killed or experimented on again. For Tseng, it was also out of his desire to save Zack as a friend, and give him the letters that Aerith had been writing to him.

Did Tseng ever tell Aerith about Zack? That's up to interpretation since there isn't really a straight answer on that. He may have told her the Shinra line of Zack being killed in action, but that wouldn't really make a lot sense, seeing as how he was taking her letters to give to Zack. Or Tseng could've said that he couldn't find Zack and he went AWOL. Or he could've not said anything, and it could've resulted in even further strains on their relationship.

Who knows. It's really not quite said either way.
