I think they already had an idea that he would be included in future remake parts. Who knows how big or small his part would be, though

I only allow myself speculation on this matter because I read somewhere that Nomura and Gackt were friends, or at least that Nomura was a huge fan. I could be wrong, I can't find the kind of proof I'd like to back the fact of them being friends, but if they are still friends it makes sense to some degree.

I want to live in the alternate timeline where Nomura makes friends with cooler celebrities, and Genesis is modeled after Miyavi instead.
Maybe then he will illicit in me the intended fangirl swooning they were hoping for
