L! Holy shit mate, I thought you were gone for good or something. Nah, not in Faslane at the moment, in fact I'm on my way out of the army properly to concentrate on my degree. It's a shame, had some good times, but the pressure of being the boss plus the pressure of a degree is taking its effect ;)

Nah dude, just been here pissing about while bored at work :P
Good to know your headin back to do your degree mate :)

Yeah, part-way through my second year now, going pretty well. My dissertation proposal was just accepted by a supervisor on the first shot, so I'm well chuffed. My dissertation title will be:

"To what extent can it be argued that the use of torture as an interrogation technique during the War on Terror was an integral part of the intelligence gathering process for the Western democracies?"

Fun shit :monster:

Hey it's alot better than "Describe the effects of extreme programming from a business standpoint and code your own programme based off a highly successful microsoft product using extreme programming methods" Shit just gets crazy dude :P

Yeah, I don't envy that one much! But considering my degree it would be a surprising topic ;)

So what are you up to these days? Still in Scotland I'm guessing. Going up to Glasgow myself later this month for a Doug Stanhope stand-up.

I too wonder whether actually putting two guys behind one computer screen would be effective (part of XP). I guess it'd work on the more complex bits of code, but in most applications, 90% of coding is rather boring. Code reviews, on the other hand, should be awesome.

/me starts at his new job next week, which will promise to be full of all things the cool programmers do these days.

You seem to have been in a constant state of 'about to start a new job' for the past few years, Yop.
Also, I'm still upset I didn't have chance to come a-callin' on you when I was visiting the dam of the Amstel :(

You had your chance, I made offers etc :monster:. On Faecbook, I think. Do let me know when you're coming this way again. Although I no longer work in Amsterdam full-time by next month, :monster:.

And I've only had one real job so far for the past year and a half, so no u.

Stuck in a crappy job that's depressing me more and more everyday.
Getting married next year which is the only redeeming feature :P
Other than that nothing has changed dude.

All I can say is this, if you manage to produce an actual product without bludgering the dick you work with then your a better man than me :P
