End of the year seems fine by me. Gives me time to do the full series playthrough/platinum run I've been meaning to do for a while
Then again, I'm not sure if I'm getting KHIII day one. Because it's probably gonna be cheaper to wait for the Final Mix edition which is likely happening at some point.

The whole point of those were basically "Ooops, we wanted to do more, have the finished version 6 months later!". They don't have to do that anymore, and it's probably more attractive to pay for DLC based on what you want versus buying a redundant copy for 15-20% new content you may or may not actually want.

I didn't expect such a good trailer honestly, I'm pleasantly surprised. The world of Tangled seems wide and pretty and its protagonists seem dynamic and spectacular (like Rapunzel using her hair) during the battle.

I have no words for Riku's hairstyle

KH3 will have to (and will need to) release sometime in Summer or early Fall, the later it release the less potential casual consumers the game will have because by that time most big games will have released and by that that would be most consumers last purchases.

My money is on just before Christmas, having worked briefly in the gaming industry I know studios tend to aim for spring or winter to drive sales to their fullest.

Yeah a week (or two) before black Friday is usually the optimal release date for a lot of games IIRC.

Didn't expect Marluxia to be back as part of Xehanort's true Organization, especially for what he did in Chain of Memories. I have a feeling there's more to this than meets the eye.

I was hoping for an Atlantis reveal, but obviously not. Figures they'd pick two Pixar films of KH3 and not just one, especially with Pixar making a firm case of not having the Toy Story world following the first two films' storylines.

And Vanitas...looks like Sora's gonna be in huge trouble with his own heart and Ven's.

And Riku losing his KEYBLADE!? He just became a Keyblade Master and already he lost the title?

Which tells me that in regards to being Keyblade Master, it just proves that being a Master means you're practically screwed.

Xehanort=Turning evil and wants to destroy everything to prove a theory. A Hojo incarnate-Kingdom Hearts style.

Eraqus=Becoming paranoid with Light and Darkness and now his heart is stuck in Terra's heart.

Terra=While not a real Master, even just by having the word and title go over his head and look where it got him.

Aqua=Gone over to her head to being obeidant, and is now stuck in the Realm of Darkness.

Ventus=Due to his past in Union X, look where it got him and he's one of the second generation of Foretellers.

Really, Mickey's the only Master so far who hasn't turned evil, or is trapped, or lost his heart or has even turned into a vessel or even had his Keyblade broken and abandoned. The only thing he had trouble with was failing to save Aqua and Ventus and nearly failed in saving Sora. He did save Riku on every occasion, though.

By that time most casual consumers will aready have bought all the big AAA games that came before and will be unlikely to purchase more, leaving only the small hardcore buyers which I doubt them alone can push the optimal sales the game would target.

Tetsujin has a good point, ChipNoir. It's Kairi's Grandmother I'm concerned about and whether she's still alive or not.

And assuming that Kairi(and of course Sora, Riku, Mickey, Donald, Goofy Lea, Roxas, Xion, Namine, Terra, Ventus and Aqua) survives the War and won't be killed off in KH3.

Wasn't there also some sort of cataclysmic event that like.. rocked Destiny Islands when they were all warped out/taken? Some giant Heartless came and destroyed everything? Maybe I'm remembering wrong, it's been a looo0o0o0ooong ass time since I played the original. But that to me would warrant for even MORE worry on the parents part. And/or their even being alive.

Speaking as someone who has only played I & II, I know I'll be a bit overwhelmed diving into this game once I play this game because I know next to nothing about what happened in the spinoffs.

Unless Youtube suddenly decides to ban people from displaying Walkthroughs of almost every game, there're plenty of channels and walkthroughs of the spin-off KH games.

Chain of Memories is a midquel set between KH1 and KH2.

Birth By Sleep is a Prequel set ten years before the first game.

358/2 Days is a midquel set during and after both KH1 and the Chain of Memories and before KH2.

Coded(Re:Coded-DS and Re:Coded-Movie on PS3/4) is set after KH2.

Dream Drop Distance is set after KH2 and Coded.

X(Chi) game on PC is only in Japanese, shut down two years ago and is set more than 100 years before Birth By Sleep. It's sequel/remake is Unchained X-later changed to Union X which is for IOS.

Back Cover is a back story to X-CHI, Unchained and Union X.

0.2 Birth By Sleep-A Fragmentary Passage, the most part, is set during KH1, and both it's opening and ending are set after Dream Drop Distance, leading straight into KH3.

Suppose you could argue that everyone in the same realm as Destiny Island ceased to exist when it was sucked into the darkness, but they clearly came back at the end of KH1.

I guess then you can write off Sora's mom forgetting him for a year like everyone else.

But whats KHIII's excuse gonna be then?
