Holidays have officially gone through at work and just purchased my Pomtario ticket. Flights and hotel are coming next month. The next six months need to speed up now!

And I'll still be going to the West Coast event if Pomtario and/or Pomingham Palace don't destroy me first.

I really want to but I can almost guarantee that it won't happen because of general filial falderal which I'd rather not get into. Basically, the trip and expense would be too great and we have things to take care of around that time.

I'm actually meeting up with the Azzavhar Army bunch (he's a FFXIV Twitch streamer who was on one of the panels at MTP) and hanging out at some point.

If that doesn't go through, I'll just go exploring on my own the days before the event (I'm actually in the city from the Tuesday!).

As a veritable stranger I don't expect to meet up with anyone from the board, but um...never having been to a convention before and the fact I'll be in Canada 'round the specified date it sounds tempting. Or is a convention something you definitely need to do as part of a group?

Nah you can definitely attend solo! Chances are you'll end up mingling with people from KupoCon and potentially forming a group, I haven't gone to one yet (my first will be the London one in Feb) but it sounds like a very social convention that happens naturally and un-stressfully. So even if you have trouble being very social, I think the people going to even will make you feel at home. Or so I've heard!
You can also ask on their FB page or Discord for people to group up with, I mean I've seen others doing that in those places, where someone is attending solo and wanting to find a group to meet with.

Quite a group of us met up in London and we had no idea there were other forum members present until introductions happened (I can't shed too many details there as I was dead, lol). Keep lurking and I'm sure the fine folks attending would be happy to meet another TLSer when they make arrangements to meet up. Ofc if they frighten you off (entirely possible, Ami comes on a bit strong ) or you need a bit of quiet time, that's cool too.

So far, there's only 2 confirmed, and I don't count for much, considering what I do throughout the day.

I'll ensure all attending TLS members are united among one another.

Certainly not for this kind of event. One of the main draws of the event is essentially one massive non-pressurising-no-eyes-on-you, super-easy-to-gel-over ice-breakers. Because it's so specialised in nature (i.e. Final Fantasy), you're automatically surrounded by like-minded attendees and will find it real easy making friends (lest people get bogged down in love triangles and stuff ). Plus, there are plenty who attend alone, anyway. Chances are, someone may try to talk to you 'cause they've gone it alone

Not going to lie: I may seem to be a confident person, but I'm extremely nervous about going on my own. Not only is this my first convention alone, but it'll be the first time I'm headed to another COUNTRY alone.

But of course, if anyone's thinking of going, please feel free to ask if you want to meet up by all means. TLSers, unite!
