Live Action Adaptations can be done right. It has been done. SF: Legacy, natch.

If you were to do a live Action Pokemon, you'd really have to do it like the Indie Movies- an unapologetic pulp novel in movie form. While 'Grimdark pokeymanz' is hilarious, it wouldn't peter out for the whole 90 minutes.

And to everyone who thinks that the third animated Pokemon film was the last good one - go watch the eighth, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. I've played RPGs with less of a coherent plot.

Every time I think of "live-action pokemon" I think of that epic shooped picture of some squirrel made into a Cubone

But, seriously, I'm sure Apokecalypse will follow in the grand tradition of quality US live-action adaptations of computer games, such as Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter (JCVD version), Resident Evil, Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill and Doom.
